lol Emergent. I used to try to figure ways to tether my pens to my clothes with fishing line or something, but all the ideas I came up with I figured I would look real dorky. 8-/

I made a pen tether with IV tubing. Remember the old IV tubings with the latex "flash chambers" you could inject or squeeze to do a quick flush? I stretched that over the cap of my pen and then attached the long end to the cross piece of my stethoscope. The tether was long enough so the pen reached my pocket and since I uncapped it to write this didn't hamper my writing.

Bonus: The house staff couldn't steal my pen, because the cap was attached to its tether so if they put it in a pocket they'd get ink stains AND they didn't steal my stethoscope because it had a pen tied to it. :)

When I give report to the next shift in the ICU, I put one pen and a sharp pencil on the clip board. If they just toss them aside, that's fine, but at least they have something to start their crappy 12 hour day with! ;)

Hello, my name is MDS1. I am a pen thief!!! HA if only there was a program for pen thieves. But then I would probably take the sign in pen!!!!

Some look at veins to see if they could put an IV in them, some look at pens and consider the possiblility of stealing them, sigh....

I only manage to steal one pen a week and at the same time lose mine as well. I don't know how I end up with the other pens in my pockets, just seems to happen :) i do try to find the original owner

I"m a terrible pen kelpto...:bag:

Me too!! No pen is safe around me. If I've used it, I automatically shove it in my pocket. Luckily I've never taken anyone's $100 pen :)

So my choice of standard Bics means I'm cheap and practical?

Well if the shoe fits...

My husband, too. I like a nice pen every now and again, but he takes it to an extreme. Everytime I take him out, there's a new pen somewhere from some place. I make him take the pens back sometimes- like the ones that he accidentially takes from the teacher he shares a classroom with. I bought him plenty over the summer during back to school sales, but apparently "free" is always better. :banghead:
