Such a beauty she was, and with the sweetest little face...

From your heart to hers, the energy of that love endures forever. There are no boundaries between this world,

and the next when it comes to love. It is the most powerful force in the universe.

Your little one knew how much she was loved.

I am so very sorry for your loss, Tn. Losing a beloved pet is so painful.

Hugs to you,

indigo

Thanks to the others who have posted..herring, I love my cat, Patty, Viva, jnette, Grace, DDRN, indigo, Joe...

I do appreciate your words of condolences more than you can imagine.

DH came home early from work yesterday and we had a burial by flashlight. She is buried next to her daddy. We wanted to get everything done before the snow came today.

Today has been a better day, but it is strange not to have my furry friend greet me first thing in the morning and when I get home from work. She was a dear little companion and friend.

Friends have asked if I am going to get another dog....... It is too soon for me to even think about that right now.

It is so good to hear from others who have been through this and know the hole it leaves in your heart.

tn, when we put our 10yo dog down on 10/29, others too, asked about us getting another dog.

the first few days, we couldn't imagine doing so...at all.

it must have been around a week later, that our son wanted us to get a male shepherd puppy.

josh just wanted a distraction to soften the severity of his grieving process.

our other 2 dogs, also grieved when zach died.

2 months after zach's death, we got a 2 month old male shepherd puppy.

and that is when we really noticed how our other dogs were handling zach's absence.

it took a couple of weeks, but the dogs have now fully accepted "stuey" and we feel zach's spirit tremendously.

i was saying the other day, that stuey has so many of zach's 'quirks' and other habits...it's uncanny.

almost as if zach's spirit resides in stuey's body.

while your loss is very new, please do not discount the value of adding another furbaby to your home.

stuey has indeed, been a "zachsend".

many loving hugs to you and yours.

leslie

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. The pics are beautiful, and I bet she was such a sweet dog. Hearing of other people losing their furbabies just hurts my heart. I am glad yours passed away in her sleep, at least she wasn't in pain, but it still hurts to lose one.

My furbaby Sam, was a half cocker, half golden retriever and he had been with me through thick and thin. Two years ago, he ended up paralyzed from the waist back, and my dh said he would have to be put to sleep. I have never had to do this before and it almost broke my heart. I got another baby, a mini daschund named Sissie. She has helped me get over my loss, and I couldn't imagine being without her now.

I don't have any children of my own, so my furbabies and my children.

You will be in my thoughts, and know I am sorry for your loss.

Anne, RNC A pic of Sam below - I know he isn't pain anymore, but we still miss him.

Leslie,

I would consider getting another dog......but just not right now. We've had dogs for the last 16 years, so it is strange not to have one now.

I'm glad you have Stuey and that he has fit in so well with your other dogs.

Anne,

Sorry to hear about your loss of Sam. I know that was a hard decision to make. Did you post a picture of Sam?? I can't see it.

My dogs were just like my children too.

Thanks for the pm's.

I'm so sorry.

I know it hurts, but hang in there. Pet's bring us so much joy in their short lives. Where does the time go?

I am so very sorry to hear of your loss.

I do understand how you feel about getting another dog right now. Each of our furbabies are a unique soul and cannot ever be replaced. You need time right now to cherish the memories: and, will know when it is time open your heart to a new companion.

I had just gotten two Shepherd puppies a few weeks before the unexpected death off my Buster (Newfoundland) to status epilepticus in late summer and have not been able to form a strong bond with them because of the grief I had to try and put aside in raising the puppies. Although I care for them, I sometimes feel like I just go through the motions. It is so very hard to bond with other new pets while grieving. Take the time you need to adjust and mourn.

I truly believe that someday we will be reunited with ALL that we have loved in this life. As my Mother used to say, "Heaven could not be Heaven without being with my dogs"
