THE WORST WEEKEND

I came home from work and my cat Rufus is missing. Looks like he was let out by the guy who came in to fix the bathroom. I live right next to the highway!!!!!

Remember though that cats are VERY clever and have great survival instincts so fingers crossed he'll be home before you know it

OH NO! Please let us know when you find him so I can stop worrying. The others are right - cats have great survival instincts. Maybe check with the neighbors in case one of them caught him?

I hope he comes home soon.

:o Adrienurse, I hope he comes home soon. But have you thought about getting him "chipped"? The vet puts a tiny microchip in their shoulder area which shelters and animal hospitals can use a sensor to read if they find a lost cat. The chip tells them your name and phone number. I don't think it's too expensive. Also, for some reason I've noticed that cats come around in the early AM a lot. Try calling him from your yard at like 5-6am if you can.

Please let us know if he comes back. It's awful to have a "loved one" go missing. When my house burnt down in 2001, we were frantic when we couldn't locate him.(siamese kitty) When we did..the local tv news crew just happened to be there to tape the whole thing. I hope he comes home soon. :)

Hi! I'll say prayers for you and for Rufus. Hopefully he will show up soon. If you post a "missing cat" poster in your neighborhood I heard that it is best to put the word "REWARD" in big letters at the top of the poster to grab peoples' attention (and offer a reward!) This is how I found one of my wandering cats a few years ago. Best wishes from another "cat lover." :) (Also your local newspaper may list "Lost" pet ads for free or at low cost.)

I saw mention of the "chip" about a year ago and it was worth it for my peace of mind. I think it was only 40 dollars or so. I sure hope your cat comes home soon.........
