Which is exactly what many wanted Mueller to say today, but he fell short.

Wah wah.

Mueller didn't fall short.

But GOP really got the point across that they care nothing about the truth.

Their performances as lap dogs was spectacular.

I suspect Trump is busy Tweeting out praises for their performances.

I am sure Rush Limbaugh will be doling out the kibble, and Trumpsters will be waiting at the food bowl.

No surprise there.

I don’t think anyone need Reuter’s to tell us what he said.  We all heard it.  I would have been shocked if he hadn’t.

Am I missing something?

Maybe you heard it, but you won't believe it (and I'm using the colloquial you, not referring to you personally).  The GOP leaders and Trump followers think he is above reproach.  Or as my young neighbor would say, think he poops rainbows and unicorns.  The indoctrination is beyond belief.

I cannot imagine what is required to watch or listen to the hearing and not come away with the understanding that the president has participated in crimes that would see him indicted at this very moment were he not protected by his position.

“Former special counsel Robert Mueller clarified at the start of the afternoon hearing that in answering a questionfrom Rep. Ted Lieu (D-CA) in the morning, he was not saying he didn’t charge President Trump with obstruction of justice because of the OLC opinion barring indictment of a sitting president.

Instead, he was saying it precluded him from making a decision on whether Trump should be charged.”

It should also be reminded to some he also told Barr that the OLC rule is not why he didn’t indict Trump.

I particularly enjoyed Stewart, a Republican from Utah, moaning about the poor folks accused of treason, and having their lives ruined.

What a stellar performance!

Where is this Republican's outrage when Trump calls Americans who disagree with him, Traitors, and worse?

Please excuse me if I misspelled Stewart's last name.

But I am listening to coverage via radio.

Again, Mueller says: NO WITCH HUNT!!!

But a majority of Americans already knew this to be true.

Sitting here eating lunch and heard that too.

Honestly, I can find a subject fascinating if I wish and shouldn't have to justify my fascination.  To each their own, ya know?

I'm a former liberal Democrat.  I'm not fed kibble from anyone.  It would be really nice if the debate could be on issues and not on casting aspersions on either side.  I know you've heard it from me before and so I know Tweety ❤️ will most likely yawn and say same old, same old Steph 😉 . . . but it would be nice not to have ugly comments be part of the discussion.

I'm not racist nor do I eat kibble.  I do not think any person is beyond reproach, I have my issues with Donald Trump, I'm not a mind-numbed robot of the GOP.  Any time I ask if we can stop with those kind of comments, I'm pretty much told to stop whining.

I'm not whining.

Carry on.

(Edited to add, TMB never tells me to stop whining!).  👍

The GOP are attacking him and Dems are asking him questions directly from his report to get him to double down on it and/or explain it in plain terms to the American public. Genius!

Yeah, he sure came across as a genius, didn’t he?

Didn’t hear the afternoon session, but apparently didn’t go any better then the morning.  I guess that explains the sudden silence here.

To all those Democrats, liberals, and Trump haters who kept insisting that “we need to hear from Mueller”, I hope you had your thirst quenched today.

Chris Wallace’s take on Mueller.  He’s no fan Trump, btw.

I sure did!

Mueller made it prefectly clear, once and for all, that Trump is LYING when he says no witch hunt, and LYING again when he insists exeronation.

And Mueller made it perfectly clear that Trump is a buffoon, and not acting in the best interest of this country, when he JOKES with Putin, about Russian interference in our elections.

Yes, my thirst is quenched.

But I never had my head in sand.

Silence?

Only because I was in the shower.

The Liberal Ladies of Lexington are meeting tonight.

My book club.

Facts which were highlighted and clarified today:

Trump campaign team members lied during the investigation.

Trump lies to this day about the nature (witch hunt) and findings (vindicated/exonerated) of the investigation.

The only reason that Trump isn't currently under indictment is because of his office and title.

Republicans in the Nixon era cared more about law and order and rule of law than Republicans in the Trump era do. Okay, this really is my opinion but after watching congressional hearings for a very long time it is remarkable to consider what they are working so hard to ignore/excuse/accept today.

Fascinating how each "camp" sees and hears things, right?

Yes it is.  I heard a question from a Florida congress person about his hand-written questions to Mueller and how he declined to answer them fully or put in false information i.e. lied.  Mueller said this was true.

Ultimately, I don't think any new and exciting has been uncovered.  For me I think the idea of foreign government interference should be the big issue here, and how we can deal and stop it.

Nonetheless Trump really can end a lot of it if he had the maturity to just shut his mouth and keep his Twitter feed quiet.  But he can't resist playing victim to his base of a "witch hunt", "fake news media" and on and on.  He just can't help himself.
