I'm not trying to convince you because you're mind is made up.  For me, it's how it's said and the context.

I've had someone say to me "oh...you're one of those liberals".  And while I'm a proud liberal I didn't like the way it was used and was bothered (only slightly, as I do have thick skin).

I also have been called a libtard and don't like that.

However, I loose all rights to complain if I'm using "Trumptard" or "Trumpeter" in a derogatory fashion.  In my opinion.  I choose to turn the cheek on that kind of foolishness.  I wouldn't spit out insults and say 'grow thicker skin".

Well said.

As my husband was about to walk out the door to get on a tractor, I asked him the question you mentioned about what positive things he sees under the Trump administration and he said "The economy, labor participation, cutting food stamp useage, foreign policy, on the road to the right stuff with a lot people (we no longer let China kick our ass economically), NATO - we now enforce that other countries pay their share for NATO upkeep . . .I have more  but have to get to work".

If the reason behind this question is really wanting to know what people think, rather than give us more to argue about (like my t-shirt comment), then more people might answer.

Just sayin'😉

I give Trump credit for generally maintaining the trends he inherited, and could see why more fervent Trump supporters would be pleased had Trump's campaign promise been to essentially be Obama's third term, but is that what you and your husband were hoping for?

There are things I agree with Obama on, there are things I disagree with him on, there were Trump policy proposals and promises I agreed with although I didn't vote for either him nor Hillary.  I was looking forward to a different direction on some issues though.

The economy and labor market participation trends are unchanged under Trump, the food stamp usage trend has actually increased slightly under Trump, in Trump's trade war with China we have lost more than we've gained, and the commitment of NATO countries to contribute more was made under Obama, not Trump.  So what do you feel you got with Trump that you wouldn't have gotten with a third term of Obama?

My Dad was a trumpeter, especially when he was in the Army Air Force.   😜

🙂    My spellcheck turned "Trumpster" into Trumpeter (it tried to do it again but I caught it this time.)  No offense.  🙂

Just saw this in the NY Times.

The hits just keep coming, don't they?

If Trump had any pride or self respect, he would resign now.

But he doesn't. So we will stay the course!
