Just finished watching Godfather for the umpteenth time (it's getting to the point that I can quote lines before they're said in the film). Was humming the theme melody. Got to thinking "What's your most liked/favorite music themes/melodies". I have several but with no rhyme or reason ... themes from

Godfather

Evita (Don't cry for me Argentina)

Days of Wine & Roses

Evergreen

What's yours?

I have many, many, many, many "most liked" music of almost any genre. It's probably best to say that I enjoy well-crafted music, which can be of any genre (pop, jazz, classical, rock, fusion, country, folk, modern, eastern, western, etc., etc., etc.).

One of my favorites of all the favorites is the music from the musical, "Into the Woods", by Stephen Sondheim. I invite you to take a look at my signature (noted below) and see a partially quoted lyrics to one of the songs to this show. The melody to this song is hauntingly beautiful. Equally important to me is the message of the lyrics. You can hear this song performed on YouTube. (Just type in "Into the Woods" and "Children Will Listen" and you'll get to hear this wonderful song.)

Oh. . . as a musician, I love jammin' with other musicians the tune, "The Days of Wine and Roses" as a jazz-swing piece. I've jammed with other musicians that tune (and other tunes as well) for LOOOOOONG periods of time. It's just a fun tune! :)

I REALLY like almost ALL the music in movies made from broadway musicals.

I remember my Dad and his friend Bill Loose working on the arraingments for "My Fair Lady"

Love the movie scores by John Williams and Alexander Courage.

Mancini was great. So much creative music. He started as a jazz pianist and then went on to do so much.

In regards to musical scores: Les Miserables ( I Dreamed a Dream, Castle on a Cloud, Stars), The Mission by Ennio Morricone, and don't laugh.....but I love "Bella's Lullaby" from the Twilight movie score. I just love the melody and how it is intertwined into other pieces from the score. I have all three of these in my phone and enjoy listening to them at lunch when I want to relax.

Otherwise I mainly listen to Christian Contemporary music, but I like many types of music.

From movies? Well, I just watched "Forrest Gump" for the . . I dunno . . 10th time. I have to say I like all the music there because it is music from the era I grew up in and it is the BEST music!

I am a fan of the older musical movies too.

I'll have to give this more thought . . . but have to get the kiddo off to school and I have to work!

The music from Requiem for a Dream by Clint Mansfield. It is one of my favorite movies, although it is just about the most depressing movie ever. It is incredibly powerful and will stay with you long after the credits end. The music is fantastic and has a powerful effect on the overall theme of the movie. My other favorite, Pirates of the Carribean. The music from that gives me goosebumps every time I hear it.
