Happy Veterans Day

Stars that would be great if you could get some respite care during the week

Snowing here right now, snow expected to stop fairly soon followed by record cold

Church and choir yesterday

Brunch was a tad frustrating.  J was a half hour late, then there was a further half hour delay while he tried to find an email he just had to show me.  But we had a good time, J is so funny and so good at interacting with the staff and other diners

Hoping this will be a fairly quiet week.  Trying to get Christmas presents bought but my sister has been slow to provide suggestions for her family.  Hopefully my dad will be able to get more info

Happy Veterans Day and a heartfelt thank you to all who have served.

It's a regular work day for me.  It was nice to drive in with no traffic.  I have a busy schedule on paper, but my first 3 patients have no-showed.  2 of them confirmed their appointments, but I guess they had a better offer, 😂.   It allows me to catch up on reviewing labs and doing refills.

Joe-stay warm!!!  It's too early for that kind of cold.

Tweety-I hope you enjoy the usual.

Hope all have a great day.

Nannie: ...(inaudible)....tire. // Me: What about a tire? / Her: The back tire. / Me: What back tire? /Her: The one on the four wheel car. / Me: What about it? / Her: It died last night.  {oh, okay; that clears everything up, don't it ! 😂 Yuh.}

Just adding: We ain't got no dead tires here!

Joe, I have observed that most everyone I know who has a smart phone is always having trouble locating what it is they want to show me. I like my stupid little flip-phone.

Tweety, Hope your 'usual'* is tolerable! Mine is....but only barely. 😏

BCg, Didja know that Veteran's Day used to be Armistice Day?

herring, my husband just finished making us our afternoon coffee.

I am still having to take a Kaopectate tablet now and again. Hubby said the woman next door and her two youngsters also had the galloping crud, but their's came with a high fever. At least I don't have a fever!

I believe mine is caused by tension, (aka "The Screaming Mimi's" which don't get verbalized. If you have to hold everything in, after a while it's gonna come out one way or another.)

* My 'usual': I am still two people. My husband is my brother. Uh-HUH! And Nannie doesn't know shoe polish from apple butter, so to speak.

Evening! The afternoon was fairly decent for this time of year, but now that it's dark it's cold! Snow arriving tomorrow... I did not run out for my bread and milk, so I am most definitely not ready. Other than that, same story, different day. I'm ready for the weekend already!

Dh has been down in the dumps and has been doing his usual talking while one of us is walking out of the room and I miss half of what he says, or talking while the TV is blaring, or the kitchen fan is on. But this weekend he was barely speaking, almost a whisper to the point where I would have to stop what I was doing, walk over to him, and ask him to repeat what he said. Ack, he better not be turning into Nannie! When he gets into a snit, he won't talk for about a day. That happened Saturday when he wants us to try a bunch of new recipes for Thanksgiving and I said I hope we can keep some of the traditionals. Well, that pi**ed him off, and he didn't speak until Sunday.

Whew, that feels better to vent that. I went for a long bike ride today, but got super tired on the way back. On the last bit I go up a hill, and I'm panting hard and am wishing I had a heart rate monitor. As soon as I stopped, I turned on the timer on my phone and counted my pulse. 63! I would have expected a 100-110. Ah hah! Frustrated though that my appointment isn't until the 26th.

I ran into town to drop off something at youngest ds's work, dropped off old clothes at Goodwill, and grabbed stuff for dinner tonight. Swept leaves when I got hope and started to watch "The Laundromat" on Netflix.

No vets alive in my family any longer. I listened to a nice interview with a 90 something year old vet who flew B17 bombers over Germany. He now volunteers as a docent at the Museum of Flight on weekends, so we probably saw him a few weeks ago!

Time to start dinner; going to try a pork chop with lemon caper sauce  recipe I saw in the New York Times. Wish me luck !

j22, That sounds good to me, I'm hungry! Really and truly, I have been thinking about pork-chops for over a week. It's about 1:15 AM, so I think the pork-chops will have to wait....

But....

Here's something else I can't avoid thinking about...I keep reading in the news about all the major recalls on all the thousands of pounds of foods in the supermarket these days. WTH are we all going to be able to eat with the possibility of listeria in almost EVERYTHING? (Tweety would prolly say "lentils" ☺️ Hahaho!)

Anywayz...g'nite!
