Good morning!

Joe, sounds like you had a good day despite the rain and sleet.

Dianah, hope you had a good show at the apple orchard.  Enjoy your two extra days off.

Never been a big Benedict Cumberbatch fan for some reason.

Never saw The French Connection although it is now considered one of the best movies and a classic.

Work was okay yesterday.  I had three of my assignment come and go to surgery so it was nice to have a student to help with pre-op and post-op.

Not much going on today but the usual.  Slept decently but feel the dog got me up too early and I may go back to bed for a nap.

Didn't notice anything with Slowbro's GI system yesterday and he seems himself again.  Will keep a watchful eye still at home.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Glad Slowbro is still doing well

Have a good trip Dianah

NJ22 we've been having a lot of rain here

Stars that sounds like our weather

Yesterday was productive before church, got laundry done and got envelopes for Christmas cards addressed.  Church was good too, the choir did well

After church very little was done.  J's allergies were still bothering him so we canceled brunch plans.  People at church were having allergy problems too.  Tried a Christmas cookie recipe but it had way too much butter and the cookies came out greasy.  Didn't do much the rest of the day except exercise and relax, weather was still cold and rainy

Have decided to stop the craft project, I don't like how it's coming out and I've been losing interest.  I think crafting was nice to do for a while but now it seems like busy work.  And with the new year I plan to be involved in other activites and won't have as much time for crafts anyway

Shorter work week for me as I have Friday off.  Hoping no big influx of cases like I had last Friday, don't think there will be

Weather continues to be fairly cold, hoping the rain will hold off

Holy cow, it is wet out there! We've had between 3 and 4 inches of rain and temps in the 60s. Then add high tide that prevents free river outflow, and you get flooding. We live at the top of a hill, but plenty of folks close the river have wet basements or worse. Some roads are closed and there is lots of water over the roads. I drove our pickup to work so I wouldn't have to wade through the giant puddle at the end of the driveway.

Sitting at work, not much on my plate today. Very nice OCD co-worker is on vacation this week and I see she sent me several emails regarding phone calls she is waiting to hear back on, plus printed out those emails and left them on my desk. And emailed me copies of studies about the accuracy of QFT tests for TB, and left me printed copies of those studies.

I don't think I've ever seen The French Connection in it's entirety. I've watching Granchester on PBS, its a mystery that takes place in the UK  in the 50s.  This season is focused on a curate who is convicted of "gross indecency" and is sent to prison. Luckily, the vicar is very supportive of this very kind and meek fellow.

Good to read that SloBro is feeling better.

Joe, nothing wrong with shifting interests around. I do hope J feels better soon.

Hello everyone!

Joe, sounds like a good day at church, but too bad J's allergies were acting up. 😞  Uncomfortable for him.  I know what you mean about doing your craft project.  I sew but in spurts, every few years.  Last sewing was making Renaissance Faire costumes ("garb").  Am gearing up to replace kitchen curtains.

Tweety, enjoy your day off!  Good Slowbro is stable.  What's cookin' today?

nursej22, I enjoy Grantchester too.  I read about the Benedict Cumberbatch/Foy movie, have to look into it.

Despite dh's time spent packing everything up (we brought our little sound system, as well as all the instruments: guitar, banjo, mandolin, bass) and then getting to the venue an hour early so he could set up, we really enjoyed playing together.  The weather was beautiful: 77 degrees, slight breeze, all the trees in their fall colors!  The BBQ was going and smelled wonderful!  We got slices of pie (1/4 a pie per slice!!) with cinnamon ice cream (!!!), before the program (no, I didn't have any.  Too much sweet on its own, for me), and some apple cider.  Yummy!   At one point, about half a dozen kids stood in front of us and danced to several songs, which was fun to watch!

After the program, we packed up and met at the steakhouse, and enjoyed eating some good food and visiting,  Brought home leftovers!  We'll play again next Sunday but the ranch owner says he will set up his sound system (which is stronger than ours, and he wants the music to be heard more).  As it was, you kinda had to stand within 40 feet or so of the music, to hear it.

So, one would think, after that busy day, that I would sleep well??  I certainly went to bed on time, and eyelids felt heavy and ...  and... and ...  NOPE.  Didn't sleep till after 2:30!!  Then woke up at 430!!  Did a little reading then and finally fell asleep.  Slept in.  Today is lazy day.  Kids are still in town, they leave for Ohio early tomorrow.  We may speak on the phone or MAYBE get together, not sure.  I need to change sheets and towels, and get some vitamins at the HFS.  Or not.  Maybe will do that tomorrow.

Have a good day!

It is a cold and windy 55 degrees. Brrrr!

Nothing unusual going on here. Nannie spent her afternoon sleeping. Ozzie, too. Not me though! And not hubby, either, believe it or not.

He has gone out to pick up an early supper, so I will sign off for now. May come by later. Don't have much to say today ....

j22, I was reading about all the weather problems up there in the Northwest, the flooding, the closed roads, mud slides, etc. I was shaking my head about how awful it was ...

but then I read a report of severe rains in Egypt, where thousands of scorpions were washed out of their hidey-holes and 500+ people were suffering from scorpion bites ...

and I thought, 'all things considered', I'd druther NOT have to deal with a scorpion invasion!
