Good Morning, folks!

It's 5:32 AM (EST) in this part of the world. Recently woke up to "Old Man Bladder". Happily, the sound of coffee percolating was just heard! (This means, there'll be more "Old Man Bladder" in this morning's future! L O L!)

Had a nice Day at work, yesterday. The day was "Q", which made being Mr. Shift Director much easier. (It was weird working days, though. I do prefer the night shift.) I actually left our teeny-tiny hospital a little "lighter" than when the shift first started. There were two discharges from the Med/Surg floor (one being a patient on telemetry, which left nothing to do for the ICU nurses who monitor all telemetry patients), and one Mom with two new-born Twins were discharged from Maternity.  In total, there were 9 in-house patients throughout the whole teeny-tiny hospital (including Maternity). There were no patients in the ICU. If I have to work the day shift as Shift Director, I wish all days were like yesterday! L O L!

There was one bit of work-related news that was sad to hear. Apparently, there were 4 different employees who lost one of their parents last week!  The full-time Shift Director, whom I worked for yesterday, lost his Mother last week. Another employee also lost their Mother. And, two different employees both lost their fathers. It was both stunning and sad to find out this. We all support each other at our teeny-tiny hospital. Four Sympathy Cards will be signed this week for our fellow co-workers. (Each card will have a Memorial "Visa Gift" card found within them.) I do not recall hearing about so many co-workers losing a loved one, all in one week's time.

And now . . . Onto something more "Happy". . .

The Sun is coming out. Don't see too many clouds in the sky! It looks to be a sunny day, this morning! What is also nice to see is more leaves "blooming" on the trees again!  Spring seems to be FINALLY presenting itself! I do love the Season of Spring.

I'm scheduled to work tonight. Hopefully tonight will be "Q" too! Then, I am off from work for the next three nights! I believe that Wednesday is supposed to be a nice day. If so, Amy and I plan on going for a nice hike that day (practicing Social Distancing, of course.) I plan on brining my camera with me, and taking LOTS of pictures & video.

Well. . . I just heard a "Ding!" That's a happy sound meaning that Coffee is Ready!

Hope all have a pleasant day today! 🙂

Ted

Morning Ted

Quiet day yesterday.  Church, cooking, and laundry got done during the morning.  The rest of the day was for exercise and relaxing.  Didn't really go anywhere as it was rainy all day. Ordered my usual takeout

Woke up an hour early with a bit of a headache, managed to fall back to sleep.  Have banished it for now.  Odd, I was expecting a migraine after last weeks stress, but this was an ordinary headache, which are now pretty rare for me

Back to work today, feeling a lot calmer as compared to last week.  Should be uneventful

Family has begun discussing the reunion at the end of June.  Probably going to change it into an outdoor thing, amd make it just one day, to help reduce risk.  Next year we can do our regular reunion

Have also been thinking about my own travel plans, will likely have to cancel or delay.  Since I can only carry over one week of time off into the new year I'll have to take some days off anyway

In the 50s today, will get up to the 70s later this week, possibly 80 by next week

Good morning!

Ted, glad to hear you had a good day.  Hope it you have a good night tonight as well.

Joe, I would really like to travel this summer to visit some friends that just left here to drive to their summer home in Oregon, but I not sure I see that happening.

BC, hope you had a nice visit with your family.  I heard that in April Zoom was the most downloaded free app last month.

Herring, glad you got some calls from your kids and step-kids.

Stars, hope the magic blanket did its trick.

Dianah, good that you are getting some virtual jams in.

J22, sounds like a very pleasant day.

Yesterday the predicted rain didn't materialize much here, although we could use it.  Did some grocery shopping, yoga, got 15 CEUs (on the Immune System which was boring as I couldn't awaken my inner science nerd to get into it), and walked 7 miles.  BP was an extremely good for me 106/72 and weight still is showing 20 lbs. lost.  I need to stop checking daily like I do but the obsessive compulsive in me still checks it.

Barbershops get to open up today and I have a haircut scheduled.  My barber does appointment only, and you text prior to going in to make sure the prior customer is gone while waiting in your. car and she's sanitized her area, and she takes one customer at a time and is the only barber in her shop.   I feel good about the risks and the precautions.   I haven't had a haircut in 8 weeks and I think it will lift my spirits.   I'm sure it will lift hers as she's struggled.

Otherwise, it's "clean the bathrooms Monday".  I have the makings for some white bean soup that I'll make and then get my walk in later.  No word on when gyms and yoga classes will open.

Daughter gave me a beautiful card for Mother's day and the other stepson's wife called me and brought him to the phone. Sister's daughter and grandson called. I have a package coming today fro our son and daughter-in-law. It was supposed to get here Friday and he was disappointed it hadn't when he called yesterday.

The DMV is open! We are going to get husband an extension as they have been closed since mid March. They don't yet have a plan for behind the wheel tests so are giving six month extensions because seniors over 75 have to take one every time their license needs renewing.

So far only the zinnias I planted last week have come up. The rest should be sprouting by next weekend.

Very easy recipe.  It's from a cookbook I have called "Plant Pure Nation" but someone posted it online.  It doesn't say but it's 3 cans of beans.  I went to two stores and no cannellini beans to be had, either canned or dried so I'm using great northern beans instead cooked in my pressure cooker.  I've made similar soups a lot of times and have always enjoyed it.

Hello!

We stuffed Nannie into the van and went over to the KIA dealer to have a look-see. We go back Wednesday to talk turkey. We saw two 2018's w/ reasonable mileage, and they are getting in two more by Wednesday, so we'll see. Have the van as trade and several thousand in the bank for down-payment from our guv'mint checks signed by Doofus, I mean Trump....Will be financing thru our new bank, and hope to bring the payments down to quite 'do-able'. Hubby thinks we should look at a 2020 basic model, also. I don't care about all the bells and whistles, which I prolly wouldn't use anyway; I just care about FUNCTION and reliability. So, we'll see.

Some one 'new' will be sitting w/ Nannie on Wednesday, but she is highly recommended by our hairdresser/barber-lady, whose mother she took care of. A buck more per hour, but not at all high-cost, and not via an agency.

Anyway, now I have stuff to do ... mainly pick up all the papers and receipts I had to claw through to find our acct numbers to give to different insurance companies so they will be able to do direct-withdrawal for monthly payments. I also had to get on Telechek's arse about 'okaying' my checks. Same thing happened two years ago when we moved down here and opened CU acct. but now we are with a bank and the checks started out at #100, so it makes me look like a 'newby' check writer. The Telechek guy I spoke with originally had already promised it would be okay to write checks after last Tuesday, but it wasn't. The woman I spoke to today added my "good" CU checking acct history to our current checking account ... or so she said. BUT, she did say if it happened again, I should call Telechek before I leave the store. I hope it doesn't happen again because it is VERY annoying.

Glad to hear things are percolating along with you'n's---

I sat down for a lunch break and made the mistake of turning on the TV and now I don't want to get up again! I finally got the asparagus patch weeded (its about 4 x 8 ') and cut about 10 spears. I have laundry to fold and will clean the bathrooms. I'm not sure what dinner will be. I need to use the asparagus and there are some sweet potatoes to use up. Dh insists he needs meat or fish for dinner so I will poke through the freezer to see what's left. We have tofu but he would never go for that.

Ted, that is sad about your coworkers losing parents, but that is nice that you have a supportive crew.

Herring, I love zinnias but I don't think our summers are long enough and hot enough for them to reach their full potential, but I grew magnificent ones in Idaho.

I am just letting my hair get long but would love to just get a shampoo. And a pedicure. Perhaps in June.

Stars, exciting to think about a new to you car. I just make an appointment to get our SUV in for brakes using some of our stimulus $$. I also need to order new license tabs.

Done procrastinating, those socks won't fold themselves.

On Trader Joe's label "Cannelinni" is in script bottom to top. The words "White Kidney Beans" is easy to read. I really like them in chili or southern style with smoke flavoring instead of smoked turkey or ham.   I will try your soup recipe. White%20Kidney%20Beans_download_zpsclthq

j22, here is how you get the socks to 'fold themselves' (... truly, though, they need 4 bluebirds to help them; two bluebirds per sock.)) Then you sing:

"Alackazoolah-micchicabula, bibbity-bobbity-boo --- Put them together and what have you got? Bibbity-bobbity-boo!"  AND a pair of folded socks!

VOILA! *💥🧦

Christmas vacation when I was in first grade we visited our Dad's musician in Kalamazoo. We kids in the back seat sang, "Kalamazoo la michie la boo, bibbity bobbity boo."
