Good Morning!

It's hard to believe that the month of March is almost half-way over already. Time is flying by.

Just finished four days off from work. Spent the first two days with Dad. Dad, who is back in Hospice, is "hanging on". He maintains a fairly healthy appetite. As shared last time, it is so sad to see him deteriorate. Although he remains the gentle soul that he is, Dad has his moments of total confusion and angry frustration. This happened when I tried to gently reposition him in bed. We've done this routine many times before. But, for some reason, it bothered him one time, which took me by surprise. I just let him be, and tried not to exacerbate his frustration by fussing over him (working against his will). A couple of hours later, he seemed more relaxed and back to his usual gentle self. Although his speech remains slurred as he tries to communicate, his sense of humor remains intact as evidenced by his bright smile and playful chuckles. It is exhausting, though. I don't know how "L" does it. She reiterated that she will not send him to a nursing home. She'd rather have her husband be with her. I told "L" that I support whatever decision she makes. Hospice is helpful, but the hours of service that they provide each week is minimal.  "L" also has other help as well, which is good. But Dad needs a good amount of care and support.

The other two days of the weekend were spent with Amy, at home, unwinding. Sunday morning, of course, was spent at church. It was a welcomed distraction working with the choir as they learned a new anthem. Hopefully they'll be ready to share it to the congregation this coming Sunday. Sunday afternoon, Amy and I watched the movie, "Bohemian Rhapsody". We're both fans of the rock-group, Queen. Freddie Mercury was one talented individual! It was quite a loss when he died! We enjoyed the movie and hearing some favorite tunes by Queen again.

I'm working these next two days, off Wednesday, working Thursday, then I'm off Friday and Saturday. I picked up Sunday night, working extra hours as a Shift Director. I plan of visiting Dad, for a least a few hours, during one of these days off from work.

I hope all are doing well. Hope all have a pleasant day today. . .

Ted

Morning Ted, I'm glad you got to spend some time with your dad.  I hope he continues to receive all the care he needs

Quiet day yesterday, choir and church and not a whole lot else.   Did some exercise and ran a few errands and that was it

Have a doctor's appointment after work so I'll be starting work a bit early today

Is starting to get warmer now, could be in the 60s by later in the week

Hullo, Had a pleasant weekend. We finally did get over to MIL's and pruned her 2 apple trees. Dh has something going on with his knee/calf and can't easily bend over, so my main duty was gathering up clippings, once my hands got too sore to snip. And boy did my glutes and hamstrings complain the next day. I suggested that dh seek medical care for his knee, but what would I know?

I watched a movie called "Juanita" on Netflix, that stars Alfre Woodard.  Was all set to watch Victoria last night, but it is fund drive time, so it was pre-empted. I did enjoy 60 minutes where they were talking about a possible cure for sickle cell disease.

Today, back to the salt mines. trying create ways to get people to immunize in a somewhat vaccine resistant county. Sigh.

Ted, that is wonderful that you can spend time with your dad, but I know its hard. Hugs.

Hey Joe, send some of that warm uppa this way. I still have snow in my back yard!

Good almost afternoon!. Nice to have daylight longer. Soon it won't be dark in the morning. Weather report says to expect two more days of cold and scattered showers. Then the rest of the week warmer and sunny.

Since mid February there haven't been two dry days in a row so I couldn't mow. Yesterday I used clippers to cut the pig-weed forest in the back yard. By the weekend I should be able to mow it, but NOT with almost five foot weeds.

Slept until noon, 'cause I stayed up reading until 3 AM.

The sun didn't get the Weather Memo, that it was supposed to shine today.

Lazy day.

(Must have clicked on something, to end up with these underlines. But at least they aren't blue!)
