Morning Tweety, Amo, Stars, and NJ22

Was a fairly busy day yesterday.  Church ran a bit late due to Palm Sunday.  The migraine was flaring so I was inpatient to get home and take pills.  Eventually I did and it resolved fairly quickly

Did the cooking and then met with the cat sitter.  Hopefully I will be able to keep my plans and there won't be any major increase in the virus in Wiscosnin

Exercised and relaxed the rest of the day

Today I'm hoping will be a fairly normal day at work.  Things will certainly get better once the week is done, especially once we get past the end of March

Weather is going to be windy but quite warm today, in the 60s.

Morning-

We had the crazy winds here overnight, but thankfully no loss of power or damage.  It will stay around 50 today.

The weekend was busy.  I volunteered at the vaccine clinic Saturday and then hosted the vaccinated members of my family for Passover seder Saturday night.  It was so nice to be together.  I spent the day yesterday with my older sis as her DH is in the hospital.  He's such a stubborn ass.  He is extremely dehydrated from not being able to eat and vomiting, but refused to go to the ER.  I don't know why he is like that. Who would want to feel that way? It's been so hard on my sister.  His PET scan is scheduled for Wed. and I know it won't be good news.  At least he is getting fluids now and they are going to figure out a feeding plan for him.  I have compassion for him, but my focus is on helping my sister get through this.

Joe-I hope you're able to go on your trip.  It's upsetting that the Covid cases continue to rise.

I hope all here well.  Take care of yourselves.

That's it from here.  I hope everyone is doing ok.

Good Morning -

BCgradnurse - Your frustration towards your BIL is understandable, for sure. Dealing with such stubbornness is frustrating, as they compromise their health, and raise their family's anxiety levels. Hopefully, he'll make better choices for himself.

Joe - Hope you're able to go on your trip. . .

Been up since around 4:00 AM. Been responding to all of the Birthday Wishes shared to me on Facebook. I like responding to them. It's a nice opportunity to connect or re-connect with family and friends. (The main reason why I'm involved with Facebook is to keep in touch with family and friends!)

I'm working tonight in the ICU. However, if being On Call is offered, I will say "yes". Tomorrow, I'm scheduled to work the evening shift (ugh!) as Shift Director. I'm not a real fan of working evenings. In fact, I don't like working evenings at all. But, such is life as a Per Diem Shift Director. One has to be able to fill in for any shift. The extra $$$ will be good, too.

Nothing much else going on. After I finish typing here, I think I'll go back to bed and catch a few more ZZZZZs. Don't want to be too tired when I go to work tonight (if I don't get Call).

Peace! 🙂

Ted

Good morning!

Joe, hope you have a good day.  Glad the migraine went away.  Hope you get to go on your trip.  Nearby Michigan is having another surge.

BC, glad you had a nice get together with your family for Passover.  Sorry your sister is having to deal with her husband's stubbornness and glad he's getting some help.  Denial can be a powerful thing.  My father is like that he was having a heart attack and didn't say anything for a day.  On the other hand we put a lot of pressure on ourselves on our family to fight the good fight because we can't let go and surrender to the inevitable.  Which I guess isn't known at this time.  Glad your sister has a support system in you.

Ted, hope that you get put on call.  Working evenings after a night shift can be brutal.   Sounds like you had a nice string of days off.

I had a nice outing with best friend.  The park wasn't the nicest park I've been do but it was pleasant enough.  There were several people kayaking the springs and that looked fun.  Weather was nice and warm in the 80's and sunny.

Not much going on today.  I slept in as I had a restless night.  Kept waking up several times and I don't think it was good sleep.  Having odd dreams.  One of the dreams was I was signing another overtime contract.  Yikes.

My weight has been within a pound for the last two months.   It's about 3 pounds more than my all time low, which I haven't been able to sustain but it's quite stable and not on the rise, so I guess this is the weight I should be.

Stayed up late, slept late, it is now mid-afternoon and kinda too late to get started on anything I'd like to see done ... my room, specifically, and the laundry also needs doing again ... I wish hubby and Nannie could vacate the house for about a week and let me do my dithering around (I seldom work in a linear fashion) and get some of my planned/potential changes done without being constantly interrupted. It's a creative process that sometimes changes mid-move as something 'new' occurs to me as I go along. I used to move stuff around and re-arrange and re-organize about every 6 months, but since I've been here (2 years? 3 years? Going on 4? I can't even remember!!! It's been a very loooong slog.) I feel kind of cemented into place. Anyway, a stay-cation ALONE would be very, very nice, but I don't see that happening, so OH, What-the-HELL. And Phooey. // AND< I want a NEW SHED so I can start going through the boxes and transferring them from where they have been sitting in the old shed since we arrived. Wonder how much has been lost to mildew and mouse nests. GADS.

Well, I did change my mammogram appt to next week, so I can watch the Braves Opening Season game this Thursday at 2 PM! I consider that to be just as important 'self-care' as getting the annual x-ray test for lumps. I "NEED" to do some things I enjoy, which are few and far between these days, hence my rescheduling.

I think I am going through a strong Spring Fever episode.

*sigh*

Hooray for the County BH! Tell'em to bring an extra J&J for me, and I'll see ya Tuesday night. But I gotta be home by Thursday for the Braves game!

Come to think of it, I'm not sure I wished a Happy Birthday to Ted, either. So, belated HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TED!

Our supplemental health insurance guy called us today, and he updated our info and what-nots (hubby's diabetes meds) and we talked about companies that wouldn't be so steep as what we are paying now. It looks like it will end up, with the changes we decided on, saving us about $90/mo. ...I LIKE THAT!!!!

Hubby's preparing supper. I like not having to come up with ideas for meals and cooking all the time. The agreed upon trade-off is I do the dishes, which I actually don't mind at all. {To tell you the truth, I think I am a better dish-washer than he is.} And every so often, if it is necessary, or if I get a wild hair, I will actually make a meal. But that's neither here nor there, so I'm going back to my crossword puzzle.

See yez!

Congrats on getting scheduled for your J&J jab, Amo.

Who couldn't use an extra $90 a month? Of course, the price of meds may go up shortly. Isn't that how that sort of thing usually works?

I am enjoying my day off, but not getting as much done as I might have wished. Youngest ds and I made a Costco run and had a Costco hot dog for lunch. That is one of my unhealthy food weaknesses, but I enjoyed thoroughly. I just finished some sewing/mending for oldest ds. And I got a pedicure, then home for a little nap. There is fettuccine alfredo in the oven that I picked up at Costco. I had intended on getting a little yard clean-up done, but that can wait for tomorrow.

Just a head's-up to let y'all know that tomorrow, 3/30 is National Doctor's Day. So, if you have one or two you particularly appreciate, tell them THANK YOU! They hardly ever hear that.
