Morning

Had some unusually vivid anxiety dreams last nightt.  Rather odd

Have the day off today, not much planned except getting the car title corrected.  Hopefully the drivers license office isn't too busy.  Wanted to get an earlier start to better avoid the rain but woke up an hour later than I expected

Yesterday was fairly nice, church by Zoom then cooking.  Bike ride in the evening after the rains had stopped.  Watched more of The Crown

Will stop at the coffee shop and run another errand or two and exercise but overall planning a quiet day today with plenty of down time for my day off

Will be a bit warmer today than yesterday, rain moving in later in the morning and afternoon

Good Morning!

Joe, sorry about the dreams but I hope you have a nice relaxing day.

Dianah, sounds like a nice relaxing time.

Steph, hard to believe Danny is going off to college.  Good to hear from you.  Glad you're spared Covid.  Some rural communities around the country aren't so luck.

Herring, glad your husband felt the love yesterday.

BC, your deck oasis sounds very nice and looks good from the pics you posted on Facebook.

Had a nice day yesterday.  Yoga was nice.  I'm finding a couple of poses easier without the 20 lbs I lost, but also noted she cut off the heat at 104 where the other studio would just let it crank on to even 109.

Did my walk on the beach and stopped at best friend's where he made some veggie burgers and a non-vegan "crustless quiche".  He eats fruit but still tends to avoid carbs.  He's having ongoing issues with his foot.  He had an MRI that shows some tendonitis in various spots, plantar fasciitis, and perhaps another fracture.  He's having a CT to look at the fractures because it may be old fractures.  But anyway it's a mess and more aggressive treatment might be in the future.  He's still ambulatory but it's sore.

Was going to get my air conditioner preventative maintenance check today but just got a text that it was rescheduled.  I had to reschedule it again because they picked a day I was working.  No biggie.

Florida added another nearly 4,000 Covid cases yesterday and the rate of infection per 100,000 jumped from a recent 5% to 18% so we are definitely in a bad way.  Right now only employees in public places are mandated masks in this city but the county may step in and require masks of everyone.  I support that as masks and social distancing are all we have right now, other than shutting down and making everyone stay home.  The death rate has not risen....yet.

Good Afternoon -

It's a sunny, but hot and humid day today. It's summertime!

Amy and I had a nice day, yesterday, doing the video-recording thing. It came out OK. There's certainly room for growth and improvement. But the process is fun. The video is about a recipe that she modified: a gluten-free pasta dish made with fresh ingredients, and cooked in an Insta-pot pressure cooker thingy. It's yummy, for sure. We had leftovers of this delicious dish for lunch, today. I still have more editing to do, including writing some background music. Will show it on Facebook when finished.

I'm scheduled to work tonight. Hopefully it's "Q". It'll be what it'll be, though. I did pick up an extra shift this week as Shift Director. I'll happily take Call tonight if offered.

Nothing much going on. Gonna go back to bed for Second Sleep before work tonight.

Joe - Our church still has its Sunday Services via Zoom, too. I still have yet to install the Zoom program onto my computer. I'm afraid to do it. Instead, I watch the services on YouTube when they're posted there. I hope your day is a good one, today.

Tweety - Sad to read that your friend is still have on-going problems with his foot. It seems to be taking a long time to heal. It's sad to read about the growing cases of Covid-19 in your state (and other states). It's one thing for individuals to be careless. It's a whole different matter when governmental systems are careless too. I hope your state and local government does the right thing for its citizens.

Well. . . I better stop here. . .

It's time for Second Sleep.

Peace, folks. 🙂

Ted

A really nice guy I worked with had problems with infection in a leg that continued almost 20 years after the bike accident that caused it. He had surgery and signed out AMA with a cast and crutches. He tried to work, but was sick. Another nurse took him to urgent care and then his physician's office. She called his mother in another  country who flew in and cooked for her son. He smokes and likes to almost constantly eat chips and cookies. I think the nutrition his mother's cooking provided helped him finally heal.

I had a nice bike ride this morning by the beach. The weather is finally nice and I saw a lot more people out walking and biking. This area is usually visited by a lot of Canadians who come down from Vancouver, but the border is closed except for essential travel, so it is not nearly as busy as usual.  My riding speed is slowly increasing which feels good. My weight loss is stuck, so I am trying to increase activity and avoid "empty" calories. Of course, then I came home and had strawberry shortcake for lunch, d'oh. The locally grown strawberries are so sweet and delicious that I am enjoying them while they are available. And I used 2% milk instead of half n half. I have chased the vacuum around and am finishing dh's laundry. I also washed 2 of our vehicles in the driveway and then realized that our local water restrictions say no watering on Monday. d'oh, again.

I saw a recipe for a quiche that used cauliflower for the crust, now if I can only remember where I saw it....I think it had spinach in it and we have some in the garden that needs to be used up.

It looks like our county moving to phase 3 may be delayed because of the number of positive cases. Knock on wood, hospitalizations are still low.

Take care folks. Stay healthy.

PS where is Stars?

I am here. It's pretty boring. Been watching the arms of the clock-face a lot, going 'round and 'round, for DAYS now.

Going to have an MRI tomorrow to see the status of the cyst in the vicinity of L3-4-or-5. I could tell them even prior to the scan that they need to schedule me in pronto-tuit-suite for another ablation, but you know those professionals; they have to see for themselves, and the anecdotal is disregarded.

Meanwhile,  I can't sit, and spend a lot of time reclining on the bed after finding a non-painful position. And guess what? Didja know that a 5/325 hydrocodone is s'posta take care of 8 hours of pain?

 Yuh.

Trying to be thankful for the close to approximately one hour out of those 8 hours when I don't have to go: "Oooch-ouch, GASP! Groan, OWWW!.." because of the sharp intensity caused by movement.

Okie-dokie, then. Taking my sparkling mood on down the road.

...to be continued...

Gosh, stars, I am so sorry. I had a feeling you weren't feeling well, but my mind always goes for the worst possible. I have had my dealings with health care providers about regarding pain in the last year and I hope relief is soon to be had.
