Morning

Relatively quiet day for me yesterday.  Church but no choir this Sunday, was nice to sit in the pews for once.  Met J for brunch at one of our usual places.  Came home and exercised and relaxed.  Decided to skip the Super Bowl

Back to work for me today.  Hoping this week will be fairly easy.  Have a meeting Wed morning that's optional, but I might attend as there is sometimes useful information

Still fairly warm but will get a bit colder as the week progresses

Good Morning -

Joe - Nice to read that you had a quiet day, yesterday. Our choir sang an anthem this Sunday after rehearsing it for the past few weeks. It sounded nice. Now, on to the next anthem to learn.

Yesterday was a somewhat intense day which took place mostly at church. We had our annual church meeting. Amongst many others, two very important topics were discussed: 1) Finances, and 2) Whether or not to continue to belong to the "Tri-County Lutheran Parish" (TCLP) which is composed of eight separate (and struggling) congregations spread throughout a large geographical area (three counties). As membership declines, so does our church's finances. Yet, expenses remain the same, if not increase. As for the TCLP? We still do not have one full-time Pastor (much less the hoped-for two full-time pastors). Both important topics are the cause of much anxiety which the annual meeting did little to quell. All eight churches face the same issues and concerns regarding finances and not having two full-time Pastors. It is a shame that we all exist so far apart from each other, which is a significant part of the problem. Needless to say, I left the meeting feeling a little depressed about the whole thing. It doesn't help that I will be resigning as our congregations keyboardist/choir director this July. I will do my best to help find a new music director.

Today? I work tonight and tomorrow night. I'm off from work Wednesday, Thursday and Friday nights. I have little planned except to eat, sleep and work.

Hope all have a pleasant day today! 🙂

Ted

P.S. Is there any way to edit in the actual date to reflect that it's Monday, February 4th, 2019?? Just wondering.

Good Morning!

I made the Trinity.

Ted, seems like those issues are not going away, you've been talking about them a long time.

Joe, glad you had a nice day.

I volunteered to work tomorrow 11-7 if they needed help with post-ops.   Not something I really want to do but got to make the money.  🙂

I've been up already for a while, cleaning up the kitchen and making some beans and quinoa for lunches in the coming days and doing laundry.  Wanted to get some stuff done before I got too distracted on the internet.  🙂

Good morning.  We've got a bit of snow on the ground overnight.  We are headed down the mountain to the big city to an appointment for an MRI for my mom-in-law.  We'll take the pick up to be safe.

One cup of coffee down, one more to go.

Good morning-

We got back at around midnight last night.  We watched the first half of the Super Bowl in the airport, and the second half on the plane.  When we got back home DS was there with a few of his friends (he was cat sitting for us), so we stayed up for a bit to talk to them.  I'm a little sleepy this AM, but nothing terrible.  We had a great time in Miami Beach.  The weather was beautiful and it was nice to not be cold, 😂.  It was also nice to come back to relatively warm weather instead of the polar vortex.

Ted-it seems as though your church has been struggling to find leadership for a while.  What do they do to recruit a pastor?  Do they contact Divinity schools to recruit someone newly ordained?  I hope this gets settled soon.

Joe-Hope this week is better for you.  Has it warmed up in your area?

Tweety-Did you make a decision about a car yet?  Hope you have a good day off.

Steph-I know you just replied, but can't read it without losing everything I just wrote.  Hope all is well with you.

Hope all have a good day.

Congrats BC on your team winning again!

I have not decided on what to do about the car other than kick the can.  I'm going to best friend's mechanic for his opinion and pricing.  I'm probably not going to use the coworker, just doesn't feel right.  Will go for the repair and keep it running and not buy a new car just yet.

I'm listening to a new Carpenters record of some of their old hits that Richard Carpenter put together last year the with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.  It's beautiful.  I just adore Karen Carpenter.  It was this day 36 years ago she died at age 32.

Brr, its cold this morning! Its about 12 degrees, but the wind is blowing, so the chill factor is down to -3. We got about 2 inches of snow, and the roads are icy and treacherous. I am off today, so I let ds take my car to work, because his  car doors were frozen shut. Dh had hoped to take my car as well. He is supposed to drive his company's large pickup, which is not good on ice with wind.

I don't have much planned other than housework today. I need to pack up stuff for drop at Goodwill later this week. I need to dig out some Christmas lights to wrap around the hummingbird feeders to keep them from freezing.

Hello! I slept well last night. Listening to local NPR talk show doing 1/2 hour taking calls with about half complaining that it was the most boring Superbowl ever, and most of the others trying to explain in football lingo why the Rams lost and how they can win next year. I turned it off.

Hello all--

A beautiful sunny day in the 60's today.

We had to do the grocery shopping, and I walked all around WalMart sans limp; the sciatic pains are gone! GONE! GONE AT LAST!

Of course, my lower body muscles are weak and sore from working off-kilter for so long, and they need a lot of walking to build back up to where I don't get tired out,  just being upright. But I can feel how things have gotten better since the surgery last week, which is amazing to me. Hallelujah-AMEN!

Tomorrow the temp is supposed to be 74. Gonna spend as much time outdoors as I can. After I sleep late. ☺️
