Good Morning!

It is exactly 4:00 AM (EST) in this part of the world. (Oops! It JUST turned 4:01 AM, EST. 😄 )

Happily, I was offered to be On Call for my Sunday night shift. And, (drum rolls, please), I did not get Called In! So far! There is still 3 hours left of my Call, so anything can happen. And yes! I have been Called In with only TWO hours left of my 12-hour shift! (I was needed to do a PACU, which us ICU RNs do on the weekends.) Of course, I did the "Happy Dance" when offered to be On Call. I had already taken my shower and put on my work scrubs. Quickly, I took off those scrubs and put on my comfy clothes. Amy was home by that time, after her performance at the theater. (It was a full audience, and they loved the show, according to Amy.) So, we went outside to enjoy a lovely early evening (with phones near-by), sat on our front porch lounge chairs, drank coffee and relaxed.

Sunday morning was the usual church thing. We had a substitute Pastor who gave a really nice sermon. She's an Episcopal Priest, actually, who is semi-retired. But because there in inter-communion between the Episcopal Church and the Lutheran Church (ELCA), we're able to have Episcopal Priests lead services in our church, which is very nice. I felt especially inspired during the service and played some nice improvised music during the quiet times of the service. Well, I liked what I played, anyway! Unfortunately, I don't remember any of it. Ugh! L O L! After church, I did my usual thing of eating a late-breakfast/early-lunch, then went to bed for my pre-work afternoon sleep. It was around 5:20 PM when I got the phone called to be On Call.

Today?? Don't have any real set plans, to be honest. Both Amy and I are off from work today (tonight). If it is a nice day out, we'll probably do some hiking. If it's not a nice day outside, we might go out for a dinner and a movie.

Of course, I'm STILL editing the dance video. I was just doing that when my eyes needed a break and I decided to come here and start today's Daily Diary thread. 🙂 After I'm done typing here, I'll probably go back to bed and attempt to catch a few more ZZZZZs.

Nothing much else going on. I'm working Tuesday and Wednesday nights. THEN, I'm actually scheduled off from work for the next SEVEN nights! This is a rare occurrence, and I happily accept it. However, when I do return to work, next week, I'm working four nights in a row, starting Thursday night. (Whine!)

Hope all have a nice day, today! Peace! 🙂

Morning Ted

A less busy day for me yesterday.  Church then a meeting of the rummage sale committee.  Did cooking for the week and exercised and worked on cross stitch

Meeting today at work, hopefully won't mess with my schedule too much.  Going in a bit early as I have a doctor's appointment tonight

Some rain yesterday, will definitely have some today, and a chance of rain every day for the next week and a half.  At least it won't be too warm

Good morning!

Ted, glad to hear that despite Amy's stress that the audience is responding positively to the show.

Joe have a good day.  I was wondering when you said you only cook one or two things a week, but also said you were going to do the cooking for the week.  Do you cook one or two huge meals and eat that all week?

Didn't post yesterday, nothing much to say.  We are put people on call this weekend because the census was real low.  I was able to squeak in some overtime because I was in charge Saturday.  Sunday was non-eventful but busy.  I got a transfer from another floor who had a hip fracture and we took her on our floor post op.  The report I got from the fifth floor was

Anyway, off today and tomorrow trying to decide if I want to try and get overtime this week.  One or two more overtime shifts will restock my emergency fund that I took out for the cost of the stove.  I can do overtime if I have a goal in mind.   Then again, overtime tires me out and I love being off work.

Morning

Cancelled PT this AM, in a tizzy over Pip, who is still bleeding from her mouth/gums/toothies. She eats, drinks, pees and poops okay, so that's a relief. Have an appt at 2 PM at the vet's office. I know the emerg clinic sent them the report of Sat. visit, not sure if they got the photos of her mouth. Know she will require antibiotics for a week before surgery; hope they can stop the bleeding. I'm using up a lot of the pee-pads to place under a towel where she usually rests. I have lots of sheets to launder, too.

Applied for and rec'd okay on carecredit, because that's the only way I can afford the vet care for Pippy. Then it will be Ozzie's turn; at least he's not bleeding!

Nannie's still Nannie. The usual "Bad Nannie" who will not follow directions, fights against help, and does all the things she shouldn't do. She sneaks and she lies through her teeth. Also castless again this morning. UGH. She goes to her PCP tomorrow, though I don't know what on earth he can do for her or her dementia. The ER gave her 12 hydrocodone, and she got two doses.... we'd forgotten it was one of the meds that whacks her out. It's always something.

At or by 4 PM, Xanax is my friend.

Life goes on, but it sure has been a trial lately.

Good morning Everyone,

I've had an attitude all weekend because it's extra hot. No excuse for this heat and we're still under a heat warning for the next few days. I'm jealous of anyone getting rain.

Anyway, hope everyone is alright.

Stars, have y'all ever tried Benadryl for Nannie? Is DH becoming more open to seeking help now? She maybe needs respite care to give you two a break because caregivers need rest too.

Good morning Ted, Joe, Tweety, No Stars, and All nurses.

This posted without me clicking "save".

I have a lot to do today. Just errands and house cleaning. And phone calls regarding housing and legal help for people. One problem is some landlords actually not obeying the law.

Pippy had to be put down this afternoon.

We are bereft.

I am so sorry. It is difficult enough when not in such a difficult situation. You know I'm praying for you, Hubby, and nanny.
