Morning

Fairly quiet day yesterday.  Ususal church and choir.  Went to Indiana for the memorial service for my sister's father in law.  Was a nice service, not too long, lots of people there. Didn't do much the rest of the day

J starts his trip to CA today, he'll be back Sat night

Hoping today will be OK at work

Weather was fairly cold yesterday although should be better today, with 60s expected by the end of the week

Good morning, Joe.

Arrived in Louisville at 0020, and was home by 0200.

It was warmer in RI, yesterday, than KY. It was 36 degrees at 0020. But my apartment, with a temp of 63, felt so good!

Slept like a baby, in my bed.

Round one of spring shots for Biggie and Talli today.

Dinner tonight, with my Lexington Women's Friendship group.

Spending time with Wally.

And I have two days to finish my book, herring, on Libby.

Hope all have a good day.

Good Morning!

Joe - Hope work is "Q" for you today! Hope J's trip is safe and uneventful.

Lil Nel - Good to read that you're back home, safe and sound. Glad that you slept well for the night!

Had a lovely day, yesterday.  Choir rehearsal was productive. Church was nice. In the afternoon, we had a small gathering of family (one of Amy's sisters) and friends (a couple-friend of ours) over. Amy made a delicious dinner. She also made an even delicious-er birthday cake! (Yum!) When they left, Amy and I relaxed together for the rest of the evening and watched re-runs of our favorite shows.

Today?? We just got back from dropping Amy's car off for an oil change, and to change out her winter tires to the "regular" tires. Nothing much planned for today. Amy is make final plans for our trip to Ireland & Scotland, which is only a few weeks away now! The itinerary is already planned for our 12-day vacation there. We need to make sure that we have the right clothes for the trip. It seems that raincoats and umbrellas are important to have at hand there. 😂! For sure, we're not going to let rain ruin our trip! 😂! We're all looking forward to the travel. Hopefully the whole Brexit thing won't cause too much troubles for us.

I'm off from work tonight, working Tuesday night, off Wednesday and Thursday nights, then working the entire week-end.

Hope all have a pleasant day today! 🙂

Ted

Good Morning!

Joe, hope you have a good day.

Nel, welcome home.  Enjoy the day.

Ted, hope you have a nice day.  I have an Instagram friend that is in England right now enjoying wondering weather.  Hope it's that way for you.

My old friend insomnia visited me last night and had a grip.  Good thing I'm off.  I finally got up around 3:30 and putzed around a bit until 5AM, fed the dog and slept a couple of hours.

I canceled a haircut appointment when I was up earlier thinking I might need to sleep, but am thinking of making it again today.  Today is also "clean the bathrooms Monday".  woo hoo!  Bowling is tonight.

Good morning-

It's Monday, bleh.  I am only working 3 days this week, so I shouldn't complain.  I'm off tomorrow for a derm appointment and Friday is my once a month Friday off.  I'm looking forward to the short week.

Sorry you couldn't sleep, Tweety.  I hate insomnia.  I really don't want to be up at 3 AM trying to solve the world's problems, 😂.

Hope all are well today.

Hello all!

After my Sat nite insomnia, last night's sleep was good, and I am thankful to start the work week with at least 6 hr of sleep.

We had a good band practice last night.  A little ragged on some songs but we will have a chance to clean them up before we perform.  We will be camping at the venue, Thursday through Monday week after next.  So will get a chance to play some.  We worked up two new songs and there is a third, a cappella, that I need to learn -- done by Ricky Skaggs and Tony Rice, Talk About Suffering.  Powerful song!

Have a good day!

I turned out my light late last night, and still awoke at 5:30 with aches. I mowed my front yard, but the back is still too wet. Most of the day was spent puttering in the yard, and our little greenhouse. It got warm enough that Angus was sunbathing on the deck. Dh left for an overnight work trip, so I had my left avocado salad for dinner, with some pistachios for desert.

I watched Call the Midwife and a new Masterpiece called Mrs. Brown, which I found quite good.

Speaking of weighted blankets, I find that just putting a pillow on my torso seems to work, without heating up the rest of me.

Planning to go a hike with dd and the grandsons tomorrow. I hope the rain holds off. And then back to work Wednesday afternoon. So far, I am really liking this new schedule, although I am a nervous about adapting to 1/2 of  the paycheck.

good day to you all,

j22

The insomnia monster didn't visit me last night.  So happy I got a full night's sleep.

Morning everybody.  👋  Happy April Fools day.  I'm not one for pranks so, no worries.

A family member, who doesn't get a flu shot nor gets the kids their flu shots . . . now has the flu, including the kids.  I'll bet ya'll can guess what I'm thinking.  🤬

Work is calling . . . this is Day 4 of being on call and I'm looking forward to tomorrow morning at 07.  This only happens every 3rd weekend so I shouldn't whine.

It is supposed to rain all week here but the forecast today changed to cloudy with rain starting tomorrow.  Since we are out of our drought now, I'm kinda wishing for sunshine. But it can't hurt to get more rain.

Have a great day everyone.

Heck-Fire! Why-oh-why is there a need to limit our 'reactions'? It isn't even noontime and I'm not allowed to "Like" anything or anyone else's posts. HARUMPH!

So, insomniacs, I completely forgot to eat those two kiwi-fruits last night, so I can't tell you if they helped my sleep or not. I woke up early, only because Ozzie needed to go out to do his biznezz.

Last night we were watching the Atlanta Braves lose to the Phillies, when we lost electricity all over the neighborhood. Big branch fell on an electric line somewhere. Ozzie freaked out, had to be given his Calm Down drops. Brought the dogs upstairs and put a lantern in the bedroom, as Ozzie truly is afraid of the dark; he could not pee when I took him out on his leash, with a flashlight to guide the way. He immediately turned around and scratched vigorously on the door because he wasn't having any of it: "INSIDE! Inside!Take me inside NOW!"

Can't go to the Sr. Ctr. today to see AARP about getting our taxes done, as I have NO idea where last years tax info/papers are ...I think they are still crammed somewhere in that storage shed! Now I have to look online for CPA's in the mountains, because I can't remember the name of the woman who did our taxes the past two years, nor the company she works for! Hoping SHE can retrieve her copies, or I'll have to be groveling to the IRS about it. BLAH!

I am going to stash myself in my room, as Nannie can't (won't) articulate or enunciate her words....just keeps murmuring, and I've already told her that when she speaks so quietly, while holding her fingertips at her mouth (don't ask me why!) and looking out the window to her left, away from me, "I can't hear you when you do that!" (mimicking her motions). I just figure she KNOWS what she is doing, so when she does it, after I tell her how inaudible she is, I just quit trying to listen. Besides which, she is just usually saying blah-dee-blah, something about how cute her great-grand-daughter is, or how sweet the dogs are, or that she can't see the face of the clock on the mantle. REAL important stuff. Not even worth saying "What?" to!

It's cool to coldish outside, and there's a stout breeze. Hubby is about to set-in cleaning the house. Nannie is getting dressed. I am now upstairs until the housecleaning is done. I already got MY chores done yesterday ... emptying all the wastebaskets of trash, recycling, and doing 3 loads of laundry, plus a run to the grocery store for just a few items.

Be back by later...

Yesterday I attended a birthday party for my member of congress. Lots of familiar faces of show business people. I bumped into a woman carrying a very cute little girl. She looked so familiar I had to ask if she is related to Lucy Liu and Lisa Ling. She was proud to tell me she is their mother! To me they look like twins. And really take after their Mom.

j22, this is what I had been doing, and it had worked pretty well.  I will need to see if I can return the blanket to him, perhaps he can use it?  (without hurting his feelings...  it was such a thoughtful gift!)

When we moved to California we stayed with friends in the San Fernando Valley. Our musician dads and mom's were friends.

My sister and I slept with their daughter on a mattress on the floor. We shared a blanket that hot summer. Rather than try to get a bit of cover I put my arms inside the sleeveless nightgown.Although it was hot I couldn't go to sleep without something on my arms. My Mom had made all three of us two soft cotton night gowns in our favorite color. Sister had red, Deah had green, and I had blue.  We three old women are friends and feel like sisters.
