Michael Moore won the top prize at Cannes for the anti-Bush documentary film that he made, called Fahrenheit 9/11.

Used to like Michael Moore. Used to.

Congrats, anyway. It takes hard work to win at Cannes.

We need more M. Moore's in this world. He has such talent to show the world what is really going on with our government. Now is it not funny that Disney refuses to show the film here. What are they so afraid of? The truth?

I think you have to respect someone who isn't afraid to be booed in this day and age, whatever their political affiliation.

So what's the scoop with this movie. I was at a dinner party and someone mentioned it was being held back in the US, or Florida because Disney gets so many tax breaks in Florida due to Disney World being here, and Bush's brother is the governor of Florida and this movie was made by a company owned by Disney.

Anyone here that? Or nasty rumor.

What they were saying on the international news this morning was that distributors did not want to get involved because of the subject material but now that it won the top prize at Cannes, someone was sure to pick it up for distribution in the US.

We will just have to wait and see. Hope that it comes here soon.........Can't wait to see it...........

It is a documentary about the events that took place right around the time of 9/11. Such as the number of days that Bush took as vacation during his first year, including the whole month of August, especially when terrorist threats supposedly had been issued that the White House knew about. Bush being "not available" immediately after the attacks, etc.

Moore doesn't like Bush and makes no bones about it. He is actually hoping that this film will prevent Bush from getting re-elected.

I heard about this on the news the other day, it looks great and I can't wait to see it. He also made a film about how easy it is to buy guns in the USA, haven't seen it but I remember it being on Oprah and him saying that at this particular Bank you get a gun for opening an account :uhoh21:
