You are reading page 9 of Mercy - NBC show all about nurses. If you want to start from the beginning Go to First Page.

I watch it and while its unrealistic I really did enjoy it. I think if you watch to watch a show that accurately depicts nurses then you should look for a documentary. I think of it as I won't watch "ER" or "House M.D" to look for an accurate portrayal of physicians and I won't expect an accurate portrayal of nurses from "Nurse Jackie" or "Mercy". I find the shows full of drama and really interesting so I will continue to watch them.

There was a thread about this last night and it disappeared.

I really enjoyed the show, even the some parts were corny, particularly the end. I don't know anyone who would dress up in a evening gown to go on a date, come to work sashaying down the hall, check on a patient/criminal, and then get punched in the face by patient/criminal. There were no guards inside or outside the room. Some stuff didn't make sense.

Too many stereotypes...screwed-up ex-Army nurse; gay male nurse; MD/RN affairs...couldn't stand it; turned it off after about 20 minutes....

Turned it off after 30 minutes.

Her family scenes were cringe-worthy, and after thirty minutes I have absolutely no idea what sort of floor she works on. Some bizarre combination of ER (with trauma bay), ICU, med/surg, periop. Yet nobody (except doctors) had a stethoscope?

I saw this last night and was not all that impressed. There were some parts I thought were decent and others so totally unrealistic. First of all the young girl, very similar to new nurses and I really disliked how they treated her in the beginning. Talk about eating your young. Please say this was not her preceptor.

I liked the way they presented the nurse being a nurse advocate for the patient eg.. the elderly cancer patient, the young boy with the embolism, and the young nurse comforting the mom of the boy who had the embolism and was brain dead. It was a bit unrealistic in other areas and I feel did not represent nurses they way we would like the public to see actually what our job is like.

For one would we actually go back into work in an evening gown to check on a patient. Where in the heck is the prison guard guarding this guy.

The nurse not using her brain and accusing a doc of killing a patient in front of the family.

There is no way a doctor would introduce a new nurse, which I think was already said.

We are also seeing nurses portray as alcoholics or pretty close to it. Granted we do go out after a bad day and blow off some steam but...

This show has the potential to show to the public what nursing is like and how hard we work day in and day out. It might actually show to the public to respect us if dealt in the proper way. I kinda was hoping it would be similar to er versus to grays anatomy(there's enough soap opera nurses to watch). I really wish and maybe they did have nurses on the set to make it more real, such as a future show clip showing the young nurse giving 100mg of morphine. My pcas hold 30mg and our syringes of morphine are about 10mg so it amazes me the narcs (pixus) let her grab 10 syringes for the one patient and the young nurse is really that stupid(she did pass her boards already I believe) By the way if the lead character is her preceptor, she's not watching her too well.

I will watch next week and hope for better writing.

I feel like they tried to cram way to much into the very first episode. It was a little corney, of course unrealistic (but it wouldn't stay on TV if it was realistic) some parts I did like and I will probably be watching next week.

I'll watch again. I wasn't in love with it, and it certainly didn't of it for me viscerally as did Nurse Jackie, but the lead is certainly presented as a competent nurse, at least.

I love her mother's character, BTW.
