Furthermore, no one has yet out forward why it is ok to put means testing on the second amendment but not the other amendments.

Nope, not arguing with you over this. I've found since Trump was voted into office, trying to talk sense to his supporters doesn't help. Neither does speaking with hard-core NRA types. They aren't swayed by any facts.

So you do you and I'll do me. Peace

BTW, limits ARE placed on the constitutional right to vote (whether or not you agree with them). This right, like any other, is not absolute.

Exactly.

Nowhere in the US are 10-year-olds allowed to vote.

But in some states, they can have access to guns.

Convicted felons also lose their right to vote in many states.

The OP's thesis is as flawed as their beliefs about guns.

As I have said in another post concerning the OP, I think there is some pathology here. Who does this kind of thing? Like Bontemps, I am a little creeped out.

I think the best thing to do, folks, it to not engage with OP anymore re: this post and to be wary of future interactions. At the very least move forward in your interactions understanding this person's tactics, agenda and possible toxicity.

Typical hypocrisy. Get pissed off and attack when confronted with a truth you don't like. Attacked the poster but not the issue.

Not quite.

Try again.

How would you know the Mental Health Professional wasn't biased or influenced? People are allowed to be different and hold different views. My State just voted to restored voting rights to non-violent criminals. Isn't criminality a form of anti-social behavior? A criminal cannot possess more rights than a law abiding citizen.

Not getting your final point - how does regaining the right to vote = having "more rights than a law-abiding citizen"?

Gee, haven't seen or heard this poster since our the debates we had during his Obama-hating days here. Maybe I haven't paid attention. Still not shying away from controversy. Love it.

I'm certainly not sure about requiring mental health exams on all voters, but certainly a country that would vote in someone like Trump has some pathology going on.

I see the patient population I get, which is mostly elective surgeries and wonder "how do these people function on a daily basis out there in the real world".

I just don't think it would be done in a fair and unbiased way.

That would definitely be my concern as well. Who would appoint these people that decide who can and can not vote? My state is Republican run, would they be the one's to pick the mental health professionals to decide who gets to vote?

I voted for allowing convicted felons who've done their time and paid their debt to society the right to vote. Everyone deserves a chance to pay their debt and contribute to society. Part of the contribution should be the right to vote. In my opinion.
