They will appeal.

Maybe they will. The Washington Post article did not state he was racist. If the lawsuit included Tweets, or even an opinion that would be protected by the First Amendment.

This White Supremacist site owners and President Trump should be thankful such opinions are not criminal:

Like yours my family has people of different races including Oklahoma Cherokee. Every summer from age five to thirteen my sisters, cousins, and I got to attend summer Bible camp on the "Five Civilized Tribes" reservation where my aunt's mother was born and raised until her marriage to my aunt's father.

There on the porch of my aunt's cousin's house I got to listen to old ladies recite the story of the "Trail of Tears". They spoke that history as it had been passed down. For example a woman said, "We didn't recognize the medicine plants we knew how to use. We had to learn the uses of these different one in Oklahoma." She was born decades after the Trail Of Tears, but spoke as if she had been there.

Most of my family are Black, White, or mixed. I am not native American like my cousins whose grandmother was Cherokee. but we all are glad to have learned the Indian Lore we learned at camp and from our older family members. When my aunt, at age 90, had cancer and was in hospice her six adult kids and nieces (like me) took turns as her caregiver. I flew back, rented a car, and had a wonderful time with just her. Because she had six kids I only remember one other time I got to be with her and just me, That was when I helped her hang clothes on the line. Sometimes we talked, other times we sang "So Long It's Been Good to Know You", or "Amazing Grace" in Cherokee.

There you go, telling your wonderful stories.  Again my friend, hope you write a book someday.  ❤️

Technically, I'm not Native American.  My grandmother's family is from Arkansas and grandfather's is from Oklahoma.  They came to CA in the 50's and settled up here in Northern CA.  I heard many stories from my grandmother about her family. Grandpa was kind of a quiet soul who rarely talked but was an excellent carpenter and I loved going out in his shop and love the smell of sawdust to this day.

Grandma had some geneology info that I need to dig up.  She said she was part Cherokee (a small part) but I'm not sure.

I'd love to hear those songs in Cherokee.  Thanks again.

Thank you.

The local tribe here is Pit River.  We work closely with them as medical folks and they have a great clinic.

Where I was born, we grew up hearing the story about a  rather famous Native American who lived in that area. Ishi.

Nothing to do really with media behaving badly but Admin sometimes lets us go a tad bit off course over here on the yellow side of AN.

I'm fascinated about the history of where I grew up and where my family is from herring.  I started reading history books in elementary school and simply can't quit.  Thanks again.

Hooray!

I was right. I predicted he would lose his case.

So sad when non-media folks don't understand libel and slander laws, and the necessary thresholds.

Let him appeal. He will lose again.

There is lots of drumming, dancing and singing in the interior of Alaska as we host the World Eskimo-Indian Olympics. I love the story telling in music and dance.

More than once I've been disagreed with that CNN is antagonistic in their agenda against Trump.  I still think it's true, it gets ratings it gets people talking.

“I think being called out for fake news by Trump isn’t necessarily the end of the world, in fact the evidence would suggest, as far as media organizations are concerned, it’s not something to worry about,” he said.

In other words, CNN’s animosity toward Trump is making it money.

Trump of course falls right into it, days later he still Tweets today:

The Fake News Media was fixated on the fact that I properly said, at the beginnings of Hurricane Dorian, that in addition to Florida & other states, Alabama may also be grazed or hit. They went Crazy, hoping against hope that I made a mistake (which I didn’t). Check out maps......This nonsense has never happened to another President. Four days of corrupt reporting, still without an apology. But there are many things that the Fake News Media has not apologized to me for, like the Witch Hunt, or SpyGate! The LameStream Media and their Democrat.........partner should start playing it straight. It would be so much better for our Country!

Typical Trump.

He is caught in a lie, and committing a crime, by falsifying official forecasts, but he blames the media, instead of his moronic self, which is where the blame lies.

Yep. Typical behavior from a mentally ill person. It is NEVER THEIR fault or responsibility.

Trump never surprises me!

In the era of Trump, where the majority of the statements from the POTUS are laced with intentional and unintentional lies and misinformation while claiming everything that isn't flattering to Trump is FAKE NEWS, what are Americans to believe?

Is not like Trump hasn't publicly mishandled classified information in plain sight before.
