This thread is not specific to news. The general subject is the media, which puts the fake news people and programming on the docket, right?

Sure, people like Hannity are fair game. You’ll have to elaborate or provide examples of how they are bad other than you don’t like their opinion.

I doubt you watch the people you named, so don’t know how you know what they are saying.

Oh well.

I make it a point to seek out their programming from time to time. I used to listen to Hannity's radio program nearly every day.

Didn't we all see an example of Hannity's "bad" with his Michael Cohen reporting? Or his coverage of Roy Moore?

Too bad he didn’t go up to the black Israelites and bang the drum in one of their faces.

Again, you and Daisy either fail to realize, or choose to be willfully ignorant to the fact that Mr. Phillips was permitted to be in that area.

Again, he was there for the Indigenous People's Celebration.

Not that that means anything to the MAGA crowd.

I get that.

I guess neither one of you saw the Covington Catholic kids tomahawk chops.

I saw it.

Nice and ignorant.

He is too much of a coward and knew he wouldn't get away with that!

What a ridiculous remark.

Utterly ridiculous.

Probably nothing.  He probably went after the kids bc he figured he would get the media attention he wanted (bc of the kids wearing the maga hats) and get away with it, and apparently he was right as evidenced by people blaming the kids.

Right.

Those poor, poor, privileged White boys.

Provoked into falling into racist behavior through no fault if their own.

Again, I blame the ignorant adults, who were playing chaperone.

Which is why I called the Archdiocese of Covington and strongly suggested they revamp their criteria for chaperones.

These fools lacked any semblance of common sense.

And of course, I doubt Daisy or dude could possibly imagine that Mr. Philips felt threatened by a large group of White kids, wearing MAGA gear and throwing tomahawk chops.

Yeah. Nothing threatening about that!

Personally, I would take my chances with the Black Hebrew Israelites.

Yep. Two groups of zealots faced off, and the Native American got crapped on.

Very simple.

I listened to him on the radio as well years ago.  I haven’t listened or watched in quite awhile, so I’ll have to take your word for it.

Everyone had a right to be there, Philips was not "permitted" to harass a bunch of kids. The black Hebrew group was yelling at the Philip's group, a few of the kids went over to see what was going on, then they started yelling insults at the kids, the kids did walk away and were followed by the harassers, if they were afraid of the kids they would not have followed them and continued the yelling/banging the drum in his face etc. Look at the facts of the case!

Even Whoopi and Joy on the View acknowledge the media was wrong.

This incident with the media and the Covington kids illustrate what I have thought for awhile, and have mentioned in another thread.  Today’s journalists lack any integrity, code of ethics or professionalism, and develop and present stories in a way that will advance their agenda.

This story and the comments here by a former journalist here of some sort shows that the profession lacks intellectual curiosity.  It’s not the facts that are important, it’s how the facts can be manipulated or even ignored to fit the desired narrative.

For me, the point regarding the Covington story is how the media mismanaged it from the beginning.  Within a few days, many on the left started to realize there was more to the story.  I found an opinion piece from a liberal man who realized he made a mistake in his original reaction.  Then I started looking at videos of what happened and there truly was more to this story.

I'm pro-life like herring so I see no problem with kids going to the March for Life if they want to do so.  It all unraveled from there when the boys were waiting for their buses to arrive.  Started by the hateful, ugly comments by the Black Israelites.

Yes, the chaperones could have gotten the boys out of there but maybe they wanted to have them experience the longstanding tradition of what it means to protest in our nation's capitol.  Having grown up in the 60's and 70's, I attended protests as a liberal Democrat. It wasn't all kittens and roses folks.

The ugly comments by many in the media, including famous folks, who said things like put the boys through a woodchipper or doxing them, were examples of the hate that comes from the left as well.  No group holds the crown for most-hateful.  There's enough to go around and . . .it should be called out by all of us when we see it.

This is the first opinion piece I read when searching for more answers and even though I disagree with some of his thoughts, I appreciated him backing down.  And remember, my initial reaction to that photo was not a good one either.

Oh, please!

Again, with your ridiculous comments showing a complete lack of understanding of the media.

What code of ethics do nurses follow? A pledge to Florence Nightingale?

This thread is nothing more than a way for you to, in your mind, prove your theories regarding the media.

I knew that before I opened the thread.

It is also a nice way for you to get in another personal dig at me.

Who cares? I don't!

What you think of me, or my former profession matters not one horse poop to me.

I am sure you don't care what I think of you, either.

I have already stated that in a 24/7 news cycle, mistakes are made. Add in Twitter, Facebook, etc., and again, mistakes are made.

Mistakes were made with the first reports of the Sandy Hook shooting.

But the basic facts were right: Lots of young children, killed at school.

Did the nurse who impregnated the woman in the vegetative state at the SNF follow a code if ethics?

Does the pledge to Florence Nightingale cover the rape of patients?

Yeah, I took a state board exam to get my nursing license.

I passed the thing, 75 questions, in a little over an hour.

Easy.

It was far harder for me to become an award-winning journalist.

A degree in mass communication. Several no pay, or low-pay internships. Graduate school. Working with editors; some better than others.

Hours spent honing the craft of writing and listening and editing tape, yes, tape.

So, no, your opinion doesn't matter to me.

Especially sense you continue to support a liar, a cheat, a sexual predator and generally immoral idiot; DJT.

Talk about a lack of critical thinking skills!

Please dude, carry on!

Whoop and Joy?!!!!

An actress and a comic?????

Gee, I wonder what my "agenda" was while I covering fiscial court meetings, for the community newspaper?

I wonder what my "agenda" was while covering the health problems of eastern Kentuckians?

😆

But I do know your agenda, dude.

It has been the same agenda, ever since I started reading your posts on this side of AN, about a year ago.

Protect the DJT agenda by all means necessary.

Stir up the pot with 'em liberals.

But always, yes always, protect that MAGA agenda.

Do you think you have changed any hearts and minds here?

Do you think you have converted some of 'em liberals?

Remember, don't confuse general politeness for agreement.
