Fox News In The Era Of Trump

The propaganda network flourishes with a weak and cruel autocrat in the White House.

Thanks for posting, baloney.

Speaking of Fox people who now work in WH, Bill Shine has left his position to be advisor to Trump 2020.

Wow.

Mr. Shine is an optimist!

Well, yes, he is just continuing the Fox/Trump party line.

Should we talk about Tucker Carlson in a thread about media misbehavior? Or maybe Pirro?

In a rare rebuke of one of its star hosts, Fox News condemned Jeanine Pirro late Sunday for questioning whether Congresswoman Ilhan Omar's Islamic religious beliefs stand in opposition to the US Constitution.

"We strongly condemn Jeanine Pirro's comments about Rep. Ilhan Omar," Fox News said in a statement. "They do not reflect those of the network and we have addressed the matter with her directly."

You know it's got to be bad media when even Fox News condemns you.

I don't see the point in doing so.

Most of us understand the real purpose behind Faux News.

First, it was a way for Rupert Murdoch to make money.

Secondly, it was a way for Roger Ailes, who admitted he knew nothing about a news operation, to spread conservative nonsense.

Third, Fox knows when the most number of viewers are tuned in, and uses that time to let ranting, talking heads, spread the gospel of lies and hatefulness, and whatever else they and Trump like.

Propaganda.

Propaganda.

From today's Guardian:

Greta Thunberg Nominated For Nobel Peace Prize

Ms. Thunberg is the teenage founder of the Youth Strike For Climate movement.

Some posters seem to believe that students are incapable of acting and organizing on their own, but Ms. Thunberg is yet another example of teens stepping up, when adults won't.

She understands the devastating effect climate change will have on her age group.

You all know how the right likes to portray the left as crybabies?

Well, it looks like the biggest crybaby of all is Tucker Carlson!

Who knew he is so delicate and fragile?

From today's Washington Post:

Tucker Carlson Says He's The Victim Of A Powerful Bully. Meet The 24-year-old Who Found The Tapes

And before our friends on the right, repeat Tucker's lies, Media Matters For America isn't funded by George Soros, and even if it was; who cares?

We live in a democracy.

The organization has a budget of $14 million, mostly from private donations.

I have been asked for a donation.

Just as I suspected all along, Tucker is nothing more than hot air.

When in reality rather than censor him, people are just out to get him heard...as he really is, what he really has said.  That's not censorship.

Rather than some big "great American outrage machine.

In reality, credit for the tapes’ publication is due to Peltz: a 20-something in her first adult job who lives in the basement of a Washington, D.C., house she rents with five other people, a few cats and a dog named Noodles."

SCDude has dismissed Media Matters as left wing media.  But also has stated that sometimes these types of sites (of course he was talking ring wing media) are telling the truth.

Not a fair statement.

I personally do believe that youth can step up and they should.  Minors, I think need to act under the supervision and permission of adults I would think.

It is their belief that "adults don't care", "adults aren't stepping up", "boomer generation destroyed the world", even David Hogg made similar statements saying adults don't even know how to use a phone (when it was a boomer that invented the phone he loves so much).  They are forgetting the generation that marched as young adults and teens in the streets for equality in women's rights, gay rights, racial equality, ended the Vietnam War and also the environment.  It's their turn to step up to the plate.  They do have the most to loose.

Much of what they enjoy was hard fought by adults.  However, in some cases we've made a mess of it, but we were'n't handed a Shangri-La that we destroyed.

During the Women's Marches after Trump was elected, I was so encouraged to see so many young people out there, but also people of my generation still out there.

I do sometimes get disappointed in my generation and their silence on matters, but we have grandchildren to baby sit, aging parents, grown children living with us, jobs, etc.  Like I said, it's their turn.

I think my statement was fair.

Citizenship requires participation.

Yes, we all lead busy lives. But that is no excuse.

People make time for what is important to them, and will make excuses for the rest.

Leaving issues such as gun violence, climate change and economic inequality to teenagers and other young people is a cop out.

Mom's Demand Action On Gun Violence members take their children with them to the KY state House, parades, etc.

Many actions require a phone call or email. Anyone can do that.

Not every issue requires marching in the streets.

Tucker Carlson is simply playing it like most right-wingers of his ilk: a victim.

Yes, Mr. Carlson is not above playing the victim card when it suits him.

But if he is a victim of anything, it is himself, and the hot air he is filled with.
