Well, not everything is not so black and white.  A background check may show you were arrested for disorderly conduct.  Or it may not.  You may get to explain, or you might not.  You may or may not get your record expunged.  Things end up on the internet and last forever. And so on.

If you think storming into a Senators office over a badly thought out resolution, not even legislation, when the outcome isn’t going to change due to your actions is worth it the risk, then so be it.

I guess the answer is no, you haven’t been arrested for such an action.  If you have it seems you would be proud of it based on what you’ve bragged about in the past and you would be happy to share that with us.

So, what’s stopping you from storming Mitch’s office?

You seem to be under some illusion that I owe you something.

As I have stated previously, I owe YOU nothing.

If I choose to share personal items, that is MY choice, and has nothing to do with you.

As anonymous posters, we are free to share, or not, as each of us deems appropriate.

But none of us is obliged to share.

I choose not to indulge you.

The other poster stated it was commendable for those young people to be arrested for the reason they were.  I know she is politically active, so just wondering if she has taken the same risk that she is claiming is not really a risk and is a commendable action.

It appears to me, that you are trying really hard to stir up the pot.

Good luck with that!

This poster has in the past shared many personal stories, some vaguely related to the thread they are posted in.

it’s not a difficult or tricky question.  Just curious if she has been arrested while acting as a political activist.  Probably not.  Despite applauding these people for doing so, she wouldn’t do the same, likely for the reasons I said that she is disagreeing with.

If the answer is yes, then hopefully she has a good story for us.

Your assumptions about what any of us might or might not do are irrelevant to these discussions. Your questions weren't difficult or tricky, just inappropriate and disingenuous.

Hmmm . . . I went back to re-read Caitlin Flanagan's article to see if I missed if the article was satire or sarcastic.

I have to say I think it was real - her real thoughts.

Hmm: I think she began with humorous  exaggerations or "artistic license" that was not quite accurate while expressing her honest opinion:

Quote

...   A group of jackbooted tots and aggrieved teenagers showed up at the local office of Dianne Feinstein...

...   The resulting encounter was so gonzo that it made Gran Torino look like The Pajama Game...

I agree that Senator Feinstein did not say or do anything objectionable. . I didn't take my kids to political meetings or events until they graduated high school and asked to come with me. I think they marched with "Safe Staffing Saves Lives" signs to support their mother and because our then 94 year old friend of the family joined in. He loved my kids and they loved him.

As an old lady too I can relate.

My question was in line with the comments the other poster made.

You already admitted your questions were off topic. What is your intent?

Yes.

Would it be better if I assumed why you are persisting in this inappropriate line of commenting? I mean, we might extrapolate from your previous posts that your intention is simply to provoke the subject of your "curiosity" but I would rather that you state your own intent and purpose.

I already answered that the best I could.    My apologies if it’s not to your satisfaction.

As you said before, your remarks were off topic and you should move on. There is no good explanation for personal inquiries of that nature in this setting.

No.

Your question was very personal in nature.

Again, trying to stir the pot?

Like the Covington Catholic kids?

Absolutely.  That is Democracy in action, them being in Washington for a March for Life rally.  Good for them.

My niece has taken her daughters to our pride parade here.  There are kids at Black Lives Matter events.  I would say that if the kids are in tuned with these ideas and parents/adults are around I don't have a problem with it.  However, I doubt I want my nieces children put in a situation that was volatile where they were storming a Senator and there's potential for arrests.  Leave that to the adults.
