New Zealand's Prime Minister, Jacinda Ardern, called the incident a terrorist attack in a Friday press conference, saying the suspects held "extremist views" that have no place in New Zealand or the world.

This is terrible.  Those poor people and their families.  I'm glad the PM was quick to strongly condemn these actions.  I'll be following this story.

I know a nurse, who is both Muslim and White. She said it is disturbing that most acts of terrorism seem to be by ISIS or White Nationalists. We told her it is a minority of people in those categories. She said, "I know but it bothers me."

Quote

Evil terrorist's twisted manifesto: Right-wing mosque shooter posted 73-page rant foreshadowing massacre just hours before the bloodbath and said he was 'inspired' by Norway mass murderer Anders Breivik

  • Gunman posted manifesto online hours before opening fire inside two mosques
  • Suspected gunman has been identified as an Australian man Brenton Tarrant, 28
  • He wrote in the document how he was inspired by mass murderer Anders Breivik
  • Tarrant said he initially targeted a Dunedin mosque, but later changed his mind
  • Police have arrested four people - three men, including Tarrant, and a woman

Candace Owens' Tweet:

What Ms. Owens failed to disclose in this Tweet is that her hand was out, to collect some $37,000 in damages, when she was a victim of racism.

I read that today, in the NY Post, along with her Tweet.

The terrorist was inspired by the work of a French writer.

From today's Washington Post:

Suspect Cited Writer, Who Fears 'Replacement' By Immigrants

Remember those White Nationalists in Charlottesville?

They were chanting: You will not replace us, along with Jews will not replace us.

It is the same grievance politics that Trump talks up and supports.

When the synagogue massacre occurred in Pittsburgh, I made a donation to HIAS, one of the pro-refugee, organizations the terrorist railed against.

I will be making another donation to HIAS after the latest massacre.

Notice that Trump used the same language yesterday, during his veto event, "invaders," to describe migrants at the southern border, as the terror suspect in New Zealand.

Trump also says White Nationalism isn't on the rise, it is just a small group of people.

I saw hundreds of White Nationalists in Charlottesville, and a woman was killed by one of them.

How does he see small numbers of people?

I don't think people are really blaming Trump or Owens for the shootings in New Zealand, anymore than Jodi Foster can be blamed for the shooting or Regan by one of her fans,  but is embarrassing to think about our President was mentioned in such a manifesto of hate as an inspiration.

I'm also not liking how Trump is handling the situation.  He really should have sounded a bit more tough as when he talks about how Christian persecutions and massacres should stop.  He's the representative of us ALL and words matter.
