Gidday, Davey and all who follow. Coming into Autumn here but still feels like summer.
Our winter only lasts about a month then the hot starts again. No snow but plenty of ice in the fridge for scotch o'clock time.
Am taking the band out to dinner tonight. There is a very old pub nearby which does good tucker. T he owners have kept the old charm in the place. Should be a good night out depending on the younger band members. [Ferals]
See ya tomorrow. Hooroo
Morning Davey and Michael. Spring has started here, it's rather cool but today should be quite warm.
Busy day yesterday with 2 meetings, didn't get as much done as I would have wanted. Stopped briefly after work at a bar for a good bye party for one of my co-workers. Not sure if I should have had that rum and coke, I rarely drink hard liquor and it left my head spinning.
Feeling rather down this morning and not quite right, wonder if it's the alcohol. Or it could just be the heavy workload and that I was out of the office on Monday. Any day I'm out causes the work to back up making the rest of the week harder.
Going to be looking to take a day off fairly soon, the work may back up but I need more than just a weekend to relax. We'll see when I can fit a day off into my schedule.
Good Morning -
So. . . As we were driving home from attending a FANTASTIC concert featuring Pat Matheny and his band, it was a near freakin' blizzard outside on the chilly, spring night. A freakin' blizzard!! "Seal"!!! (Look up the French word for "seal" and pronounce it out loud.) Needless to say, we got home safe and sound. What was weird was that about 1/2 way home it totally stopped snowing. Like, totally, man! The first half of the ride was treacherous, though.
As for the Pat Matheny concert. . . Wow! Boy those cats can play! Amy got us front row center seats! We had seats 12 and 13 on row AA, which put us smack in the middle, real up and close! It was fantastic both in sight and sound. I love and appreciate anything of quality. This would include music of course. The tunes themselves were quality-written and arranged. The musicians were top-notch as they demonstrated both expertise and control while they played. And, probably most importantly in the world of jazz, the ability to listen to each other, feed off each other's energy, improvise their solos while creating music that was dynamic in everything imaginable was super high quality. The five musicians played as one unit. It was an honor and a pure joy to experience it. I, uuuummmm, think I had a musical out-of-body experience last night, I was so in heaven.
Amy liked it too. Well. . . she's a musical-comedy kind of girl where there's singing and dancing and dialogue. But, she said that she could go to another Pat Metheney concert again in a few years. LOL!
With the exception of the drive home after the concert, we both had a great time.
Davey Do. . . cool cartoon to read on a cold, spring day. Makes me long for summer to spring into action. :D
Michael - I forgot that "The Down Under" has opposite seasons of the year than those living above the equator. Hope your Autumn brings pleasant weather for you. Hope you had a nice dinner with the band out in the ol' pub.
Joe - Sorry to read that you don't feel well. Rum and Coke. I used to drink a lot of that stuff in my youth. Yuck! Hated the morning-after headaches. (On the very rare occasions that I drink anything with alcohol, it's a nice tall glass of foamy stout beer. Yum!) Hope you're feeling better.
Not much planned for today. We need to do some grocery shopping. Amy has an audition for a local theater tomorrow so I'll be helping her out as she learns and practices a few tunes for the audition. I also plan on putting more notes on blank manuscript paper.
Hope all have a pleasant day! :)
Good morning everyone. :wavey:
Spring isn't that cool here on the West Coast - Spring is warm! The drive down the mountain yesterday showed me that the oak tress have started to get leaves, the redbud is blooming, the hills are green with grass. And I had the air conditioner on.
Headed to Oregon later today for my son's birthday, which is today. Taking presents from the grandparents with me. Sure wish I could take my mother-in-law but father-in-law's dementia has increased to the point where he is lost without her. And taking them both would make his confusion worse.
Better get Spidey ready for school. I'm working at his school today so that's good.
Davey: Glad to see Mr. Cool Spring feeling slinky this morning! :cheeky:
Michael: Enjoy dinner. Hope the band behaves.
Joe: Feel better. I hop everything gets done. i hate being behind.
TED! What a WONDERFUL TIME! Music takes me away too.
Enjoy your grandbaby Steph. It's expected to be a high of 63 here. Cooler than the high of 80 last week.
This is International Happiness Day.
Enjoy these nice happy pictures:

I got a late start this morning, but have been running around doing laundry, errands, etc. I went to the hardware store and got a few paint color samples to try in my dining room. Bye bye beige, hello color!!
Still cool and windy here. I went out for a walk earlier and almost got blown sideways. Come on 60 degrees!! I need some warmth. The snow is slowly receding from my lawn. I can actually see dirt in a few places now.
Off to pick up DD at school. Her brother has her car, which caused all kinds of drama. I can't wait til he buys his own.
Enjoy the rest of the day!
Good Afternoon to you all,
I have enjoyed reading your posts while sipping on a nice cup of tea.
Up and out the door, took the dogs hiking then had to swing by the garage as there was a weird noise under hubby's truck. Got that sorted out then came home.
I am feeling tired today after working so hard cleaning out the kitchen cupboards, scrubbed the kitchen and then did one closet, got the washing done, made the bed with fresh linen, then cooked a nice different Chinese meal for supper.
I still have two other closets to go but will get them done soon enough.
We came home from our hiking, cleaned out hubby's truck and put that up the front of the property to try and sell it. We are loving this downsizing and prioritizing our plans for retirement when that turns up in another 5-6 years.
I took my car and got that all cleaned up and she looks beautiful even if there is a threat of nasty weather coming in next Tuesday I could not stand her looking so grungy.
Hope you are all doing well this beautiful day.
Off to enjoy another cup of tea.
Much love to you all.
I envy your energy for cleaning. I never do that much house/yard/ vehicle work on a single day.
