Clearly, only a young person without a professional license or practice asked the naive question.
Didnt the OP say they were a mechanic? It was simpky out of curiosity.. Not every professional license is as 'sensitive' as medicine.

For example, even people who work close to us, such as biomedical engineers, are able to say basically whatever they like and not face reprucussions. As long as they don't start going off about holocaust denial or telling people to just set every alaris pump to "999" regardless of the desired infusion, they should be alright.

Nurses on the other hand; you tell someone on here that "120/80 sounds like a normal blood pressure for someone your age" and you've just like.. Interpreted a test result on the internet and are basically a felon.

    Not.

    Your ignorance is amazing.

For what it's worth. . . I use my real name. "Ted" has been my nickname since birth. Prior to this, I DID use the initial of my first name followed by my last name. I used that UserID when I joined this web-site in 2001 until a couple of years ago.

I belong to a videographer-based web-site that REQUIRES its membership to use their real first and last name. The thinking behind this is to keep the freakin' trolls out and the postings respectful between its membership. It works! Although I understand why this and other web-sites allow its membership to use "fake" UserIDs, I sometimes wish Allnurses would require real names to be used here. Oh well. . .

Allot of people have nurse fetishes kinda like nurses have vein fetishes. The fake name keeps creeps away from stalking nurses. Im sure allot of you nurses deal with patients that may develop a crush so keeping your name safe adds a fence to your life that protects you.

Far'wyn, your screen name gives no clue as to your penchant for watching boils being burst and spewing pus and blood, nor that you hate excessive elipsing.
Mine gives no indication that I can casually eat a sandwich and watch someone puking with no triggering of my gag reflex occurring.
Ted's first initial and last name written as one word, sounded like someone sneezing.
There are other secrets that could be told, but............

With all due respect, No Stars, I beg to differ.

Ted's old user name went something like: "E.Z. Bakeoven".

Yah, but, if I was suddenly like Far'wyn, my clothes would be swimming on me and I'd be tripping over my own pantlegs and hems!
