So let's have some fun. :) Last night, while bored, I did a Google search of the worst Christmas songs of all time. Some of them are pretty bad. For the most part, Christmas music annoys me... Read More

Thanks herring; that's the first time I've ever heard this song. It is kind of lengthy, teetering towards being very tedious pretty quickly. I can certainly understand why amoLu has such an unfavorable attitude about and intense dislike of this song. I personally turned the sound off once the singer (at age 73) started singing it. Listening to it all the way through when she was a 10 year old singing it was QUITE enough!

Before we leave the subject of hippo's, however:

!.) They may be vegetarians, sure. But if they are feeling threatened or p.o"d they are VERY fast and their bite can be ferocious, so they ARE dangerous!

2.) I hear tell that my step-daughter had a stuffed red hippopotamus as a young child before she could pronounce the word. It was forever after referred to as a 'pee-ossie'.

That is all, and let us never speak of it again, for amoLu's sake.

There's also the 'Dominick, the Italian Donkey' song.

On youtube. It ranks right DOWN there with the hippo song!

On my fav TV show, NCIS, Abby has a stuffed hippo, Bert, who farts. I think of the Christmas song every time she has a scene with Bert on the show.

Some people have all the luck.

Wish *I* had a farting hippo!
    . . .instead of BEING one! .

I hate Xmas-songs I hear on every radiostation and in every warehouse.
I love polyphonic and "a capella" ones.
A little fault makes it even more sweater to me.

Canned goods can´t replace a feeling.

Have your very own merry Christmas !

    Affixing Blame: (tongue in cheek)

To: Nurse Card, for starting this thread

To: amoLu, For bringing up the HIPPO Christmas Song

To: herring, for posting the youtube link

To: me, for listening to the entire song on youtube

To: my local newspaper, for placing the photo of the baby hippo (born earlier this year) above the mast on the front page, as one of the items in the Recap of news stories from 2017

To: My brain, which immediately adopted the Hippo Song as today's firmly implanted ear-virus, The Song That Will Not Die.

My 2 songs that I dislike the most are "Grandma Got Run Over by Reindeer" and the "Christmas Shoes".

I have numerous :loves". It just depends on my mood and what I'm wanting to hear at the time. But 2 I haven't tired yet are "Snoopy and the Red Baron" Christmas version. (It's on youtube.) And "Mary, Did You Know?" I love these two and since I don't hear them often enough, I always enjoy them when I do.

ret.med.nur.- I heard 'Mary Did You Know' on Monday and realized I hadn't heard it in quite a while. Don't know why it isn't played more; it's very poignant.

Aaaaand, herring, you have redeemed yourself with the Adorable Baby Fiona Farting video> Cuuuuuuute!!!

Is it blasphemous to mention Jesus' mom and a baby hippo's 'expressions' in the same post?

Was listening to some YouTube with Susan Boyle singing some Cmas carols.

That woman's voice is a gift.
