These are a few of my favorite things...

  1. Being fairly new here I'd like to get to know you guys a little better, what are some of your favorite things?

Some of my favorite things are:
Spending time with friends, taking pictures - I like to pretend to be a photographer, scrap booking - creating cool pages with the photos I take, karaoke - especially if I am drunk but even when I'm not, Sangria wine - love it, love it, love it, playing PlayStation2 games with my kid, sitting on the porch in the evening with my husband, playing with my dog Abby, watching Lifetime movies, getting pedicures, Pontiac Trans Am (which will no longer be made after this production year) and Ford Mustang COBRA, Mexican food, homemade chicken noodle soup and homemade chicken and dumplings, pasta of just about any kind, clothes and shoes - especially buying them, AND!

Another thing I really, really love is LAUGHING - sometimes I laugh so hard it hurts my stomach and makes me cry!!!

    So what about you guys?

The ocean and mountains, especially the Appalachians and Smokies. Clear blue skies. Birdsong. The sound of the wind through the trees. Storms-if I'm in a safe place. Snow. All of God's creatures except snakes and lizards. The sight and sound of my grandchildren. Reading, reading, and reading-historical novels, especially. Informational TV, like Dateline, 20/20, Forensic Files, etc. Used to LOVE MASH and Northern Exposure for dry, droll humor. Sewing, and thinking about sewing. Going for rides in the woods in a ragtop jeep. Hunting. Spending time with family. Shopping in stores or catalogs. Driving my new van. Crab legs and prime rib. Food for the Gods! Good chocolate. Cheesecake. Pecan pie. Carrot cake. Waking up each day. Running Fire/EMS calls with our local volunteer department. My husband and I fixing up our house. Sex. Being correct when I make a "nursing diagnosis" that a doctor concurs with. Being treated fairly, and politely.

I know this sounds silly, but have you ever tried pecan pie without the pecans? My grandma calls it a syrup pie. I am allergic to pecans but I love the gooey stuff in pecan pies so I make pecan pies without the pecans and they are soooooo good!

    My favorite things...

The sound a child makes when they laugh, really laugh hard, when they almost can't catch their breath.

The smell of their hair right after a bath.

When the phone is ringing at 5:30am, and I signed up to get called off if census permits.

    Sex and/or chocolate.

    Reading a good book.

    Finishing a long book.

ER, Law & Order, Golden Girls.

    All kinds of music.

    Spaghetti & Lasagne.

The way I feel when my son accomplishes something wonderful, 100x's better than it could ever feel even if I had done it myself.

The smell of the ice when I walk into a hockey game (GO WINGS!)

In accordance with your thread title - I LOVE Tony Bennett!!!

I too love laughing and smiling. I laugh so hard sometimes my cheeks hurt!
I thoroughly enjoy food, reading, being outside, and sometimes just sitting quietly. I enjoy coffee with my husband in the mornings. I love learning new things. I love all animals. And I LOVE pecan pie, but never had it without pecans. I make mine with bourbon.

Anyway, read your posts in America the Beautiful. Welcome!

I must have ran to a gazillion stylists trying to copy that hair! Guess what? I don't have "Darhma hair".

Haha! Looks cute on you though!

Thanks Heather! I really like having short hair too! I tried to let it grow out one time and I just couldn't stand it and had to get it cut again. Short hair is just so much easier to deal with. Anyway all I do when its long is put it up in a scrunchie. I always steal my hair styles from people on tv because they always come up with the coolest looking cuts. I am thinking about copying the one on this page next:
Let me know what you guys think.......

Ted, when you said "sex; a little more sex;" and "eating; a little more eating," you really cracked me up!

Linda you might have to grow your bangs out for that hairstyle. Personally, I like the one you have because it fits your face...does that make sense?

Like Ted, I have this song running through my head. My favorite things: spending time with friends and family, watching babies grow up, hearing children laugh (all ages), actually, hearing people laugh, swimming, my cats, my lap top, 80's movies and music, going to church, making a great meal, accomplishing anything, taking pictures, Manhattan, NYC, traveling, chocolate, the wind softly blowing on a cool day(in Texas? lol), the ocean, swimming...and the list could go on and on.
