I thought that was just one of those po folks southern foods (because we don't waste any part of the animal eating pigs feet and brains, head to toe, with the scraps going to the dogs).
Yankee girl at heart here, and I'm all for waste when it comes to stuff like that!

Just yesterday my neighbor, now a new Mom, told of being served brains and eggs. She said, "I ain't never had no brains before."
Her brother quipped, "Duh, that's why you said "aint."

I never liked liver even when Mom tried to hid it in meatballs. I had my pasts with sauce only.
No amount of hot sauce can hid the taste of chitterlings. They taste like guts.
Has my first steak and kidney pie as an adult in Toronto. I'm still convinced it tasted of urine.
My wonderful uncle loved to knaw on a pickled pig foot from a jar.
Dad ordered liver and onions in restaurants because Mom didn't like to cook it.

Never wanted to eat eyeballs no matter how prepared. Neither snouts nor tongues are appetizing to me.
Let those who like them eat them.
Whenever we killed a chicken there were plenty happy to eat the gizzards.

Now I almost never eat meat anyway.

Daughters boyfriend, a vegetarian, just retured from Shanghai too thin. He had a good time but the food turned him off.

    Good morning!

You guys are reminding me of my trip to Vietnam - where they cook the chicken's head and place it upright on the serving plate. Or add bull's testicles to a salad.

It "ain't" just the "po south" folks who don't waste anything. :wink2:

Today we are hoping to finish our fence - two years in the making.

Grace - I hate carpet. We made the mistake of putting carpet down in the office and hallway and it is just a dirt collector. We have a wood burning furnace and we live on the highway so that makes for lots of soot and dust. The rest of the house is hardwood floors - which I can sweep and mop and remove the dirt.

    We don't have carpet either.

    Don't waste nothin'?

We can see where pigeons nest in the awnings of our hospital. Hope no one gets a hankerin' for squab.

    Roy did the guy fall?

Thank you for donating. Soon you will be giving blood to patients.
We give T-shirts, buttons, this year "I was probed" with Rosewell alien face, home made cookies, tickets to a drawing for a Barns & Noble gift certificate and a helium balloon.
    See them here

Thanks for the music. I can't wait to show DD. Here she is between friends we do the blood drive with.
    See the balloon strings?

    The balloons are funky

No, the guy didn't fall and hit the ground - but he fainted on the recliner chair.

    Speaking of which:

leslie, roy, i also had no trouble reading that! guess this ol brain isn't in too bad a shape afterall! lol
    g'day all! it's sunday here! :-)
about the choice of carpet..... we pondered the idea of having the floorboards polished. the kitchen ones are and it looks fabulous, i love it. while we do have hot summers here, the winters can be very cold. we decided on pure new wool carpet, which will be ideal for both seasons and it's a natural fibre. we have a very powerful vaccum cleaner which does an excellent job of extracting the dust etc. so, carpet it be!
    about the brains for breakfast......
i'd never eat any kind of offal at all. i loathe it! here in oz our food history comes from britian originally. australia was founded by the british and settled by convict labour.**
hence the reason we consume a lot of food which the british also eat.
** i'm not descended from convicts though darlings! my mob were free settlers!!! :chuckle :d :roll just so yer know!! bwahahaha!

ok, have a good night's sleep all who are sleeping. safe work for those who are working. i'm off to enjoy my sunday! we're driving down the coast and hopefully, will see some whales frolicking!
    catch you later!
    cheers............
