More domestic terror/snipers - page 2

The US has never suffered with snipers the way we are hearing with the VA situation. The terror of a sniper on the lose is terrible. Some years ago I heard of someone sniping cars/trucks on the... Read More

mario, seems you are a bit hostile here. I do not believe that a person who is normal mentally and physically kills for sport. That is not part of my belief system. Has nothing to do with guns. Has to do with anger - usually - one turns it inward and develops suicidal tendencies, another turns it outward and develops homocidal tendencies. I do not by any stretch of the imagination think it is this simple....but....simple minds - simple thoughts.

Me....hostile?....no!....I'm amazed..and concerned. During these times people get more desperate, and these weapons have never been used in America. I'm not hostile to anyone. This is all way out of whack and i have been going all day so maybe I bette rest. Good night all, zzzzz :-)

repeat "guns dont kill people, people kill people" I have several guns myself, was raised around them and learned early on to respect them. even if my guns were just toys.

I hate that slogan. Sure it's the person firing the gun that is guilty of the killing, but do you think he'd be able to pick people off from 200 yards if he was using a bat or a knife or a golf club?
  5. by stressedlpn
depends on how good you are at throwing a knife,( sorry I know that was a smarta#$ answer) honestly I enjoy having guns, I enjoy shooting them, I enjoy collecting them. What I hate is people who use them wrong and who use them for malice. If the guns were not availble then these sick people would find some other way to kill, what do we do then, ban all sharp and pot.fatal objects??

Fergus, you are so perceptive, yes I am prn nurse and a lot of others on this board that have no reason to trust the government. Just because you are paranoid doesn't mean nobody is after you.

    True enough Jon.

StressedLPN, yes I think this freak might have tried to kill someone with a bat or a golf club if he didn't have a gun. My only argument is he certainly wouldn't be nearly as successful. There is a reason mass murderers pick guns (cause they can kill more people).

:angryfire This is happening in my back yard. Am I pissed? You bet I'm pissed!
    Am I scared? You bettcha....!
Am I going to let someone take away my guns because of this? Only out of my cold dead hands.

I belong to a Rod and Gun club, I target shoot and I hunt( and yes I eat what I hunt). I, as with everyone in my family, have been around guns all our lives and none of us has ever shot someone. As a matter of fact none of us have even shot ourselves. As children we first learn to fear a gun, than to respect a gun than how to use a gun. My brand new (2 days old) granddaughter will be taught the same.

I hate that when ever someone does something bad with a gun, people automatically want guns to go away. How about knives, baseball bats, cars, trucks...........they have all been used to kill as well.

Lets pray that they soon catch this SOB and to be perfectly honest if they happen to shot him a few times in the process I hope he doesn't die. That would be to quick and too easy. I would personally perfer long and painful for what he has done.

Just curious. How do you know that the US government has "plenty of contract players who are willing to take a few people out" for any reason? This is a pretty broad statement. What facts can you back it up with (and no, Soldier of Fortune magazine does not count as a reference).

Oops. Missed that. Go away for a couple of days, and look at what happens. If you are, in fact, prn nurse, I withdraw my previous question, for obvious reasons.

    'THE VERIFIER' is back.

Finally recovered from the weekend at the in-laws huh?

Back that up Jon with :

    1) The name of the report.

2.)The name of the government agency the report originated from.

3.) The name of the government....that report originated from..

    4.)The date of said report.

    5.)The author of said report.

6.) What was "said report's'' security clearance?

    7,) Was aforementioned report indexed?

    8.) Was the bibliography VERIFIED?

9.) Can you VERIFY this report without "Ratting" on any CIA operatives?

    10) Do you have any cousins residing in Sicily, New York City, or Wichita, KS ?

11.) Do you have your "papers in order?"
(We might have to contract you out...if you get my drift), especially since you seem to attract these microscopic-detailed types.

Well for one thing, I can guarantee that all this stuff is not lying on someone's desk waiting for me to copy it. Let's just say I learned a few things while doing Uncle Sam's dirty work in an unpopular war. Go to the nearest VA Hospital and ask the patients there how much they trust the Government. Ask them about the 6 grand they got from Dow Chemical and if it was worth it.

    Hey Jon,

I am not sure I'm with you but I sure am not against you on this. From a tactical standpoint it would be very easy to do. Really makes one wonder why it doesn't happen much more often. You have genuinely stroked my nontrust of government side that's for sure. I think it's probably some ex-military zealot who missed a promotion somewhere, may have gotten injured, in the middle of a family dissolution, and has a score to settle.

Wonder if this person is using a Schillenn barrel on the weapon.
That in itself would say a whole lot about his origins...especially if their copies of the same barrel.
