Dear Father, To those of us that serve you each day by reaching out to care for those that are sick and unable to care for themselves, I ask that you bless us with love, tolerance, compassion, understanding, empathy and guide us to look beyond the obvious to see what really lies beneath that which is not easily seen. Show us how to better serve you by caring for ourselves, as well as others and to give you the glory for all of the joys we have in life. Thank you Father for the beauty we so often take for granted and for each other, though we have never met, our spirits have joined in oneness and in love. Amen

i was wondering if any of you would like to keep this thread going as a prayer chain? i labeled it interfaith, no limit to praying to jesus, or jehoval, allah, budda, mother nature, whatever your higher power is, everyone can participate. you can just read, and keep those people in your prayers, or thoughts if you don't prayer, send them good karma or good vibes, whatever! you can respons, or not. i'll start....

my dearest friend moved out of state about 6 months ago. i haven't heard from her in a while, and when i don't, i always know it is for a good reason, but today i felt an strong urge to call her. when i did, and she heard my voice, she said she was going to call me today. psychic connection i guess. she told me that she couldn't call me sooner, b/c she just couldn't even accept or verablize what had happened to her daughter. she is 14, and she was raped. since that time, she has made several suicide attempts, and my friend and her hubby cannot even leave her alone for even a few minutes. she has been in and out of the hospital, and needless to say, my friend and her family are really hurting. i wished she was here so i could have been ther for her. i feel so devaststed by even hearing about it, i can't even begin to imagine what life has been like for them these last few weeks.

please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.
hoolahan, what a wonderful idea! i will keep your friend, her daughter and her family as well as you in my prayers.

    dear father,
there are some of here who come with heavy hearts and grief-laden souls. we know that you have all power and mercy over your children. father, forgive us if we have fallen short of your glory - we know our faith should be strong and unfaltering, yet sometimes we fall. please continue to hold us in your loving embrace and help us to remember that we are special - we are the children of a king. thank you, father, for all that you have done for us and continue to do for us, for you have been better to us than we have been to ourselves. these and all things we ask in your most holy name, amen.

yes, i will remember those who post here in prayer, as well as their prayer concerns.

hoolihan.....i'm so sorry to hear of your friend's daughter being raped. if the parents do not have their daugther in therapy, please encourage them to do so. :kiss

karalea....i will pray for your auntie that she continue with a good recovery from her surgery, and return to her normal life soon.

warrior's your heart doing today? any more pains? how is your mother? still improving, i pray. i'll be praying for you all, too.

as always....let us continue to pray for our great country, and for other countries who are suffering far worse than we could possibly imagine. let us continue to remember our soldiers, sailors, marines, airmen, coast guard, reserve and national guard troops, our homeland security people, our president, other polititicans who are in place to help the president protect our country, police officers, firemen (includes both sexes), and all other emergency personnel.

let us remember to give thanks for our many blessings....our ability to walk, talk, eat, sing, laugh, see, feel, hear, love, be loved, learn so many wondrous things, teach others that which we know to help them grow in whatever ways they need to grow in, our daily shelter, and the many hands that contribute to making our daily lives so much easier to live. let's be thankful for running water, flushing toilets, computers....did i say computers :chuckle for our families, friends, healthcare workers, modern medicine and technology, and all other things we tend to not give much thought to because we are so much in the habit of simply 'doing them'. :kiss

I love it, Hoolio, you do have great ideas. Thank you!!

I am hereby challenging us (myself included) all to find something from another faith or tradition than our own, and share it here as well, so that we can appreciate our similarities as well as differences. I hope that's ok w/everyone!
