Losing weight for real this time

I'm doing it for real. I've been on and off overweight since I was 10, but it got really bad after college. Well, I tried lots of different diets and exercise plans in the past, and I just couldn't keep up with it. Years ago I hit my highest weight and tried to get in shape, but I plateaued with stress eating from nursing school. Yes, I'm blaming some of this on nursing! BUT I entirely acknowledge it is my bad habits I have to get out of, and the weight loss/increased fitness level will come.

I bought T25 and started drinking shakeology with it. I know, I know, expensive products that don't really teach you how to eat healthy. But I know how to eat healthy. It's the routine I need. The routine of exercising for 30 minutes every day. The counting the calories so I'm not mindlessly eating anymore.

I've lost more than 8lbs in 3 weeks and would love to lose another 30. But mostly I want to be able to hold a conversation when walking up the steps. I don't want to say, "maybe next time" when I go on a trip because I know I can't hike up that mountain. I don't want a patient to look at me and wonder if I'm really the best person to be giving them advice on their heart healthy/low fat/diabetic diet.

There's a million online communities for weight loss, but you guys are my people. So you have to read my nonsense. Or don't, you know, whatever.

Good for you! I work out approximately 3 hours a week just so I can eat, lol. But it is also great for my mood, health, self esteem and wardrobe cause I'm too cheap to buy new pants. ;)

Please keep us posted.

I just stumbled on this thread. I decided in April it was time for me to get serious about losing weight. I was at my highest weight ever & almost 100 lbs. overweight. I started seeing a weight loss coach & completely changed how I eat as well as what I eat. I started my new lifestyle (I refuse to call it a diet!) on May 2 and, to date, have lost almost 30 lbs. I've been taken off my blood pressure med & 1 of my diabetes meds & will probably have the other diabetes med discontinued today when I see my doctor. I'm starting to look better but, more importantly, I feel much better!

I need to lose weight too. My husband and i (mostly me) went on diets and started exercising right before Christmas 2013 when he was diagnosed diabetic. Like I said, he didn't do much.

I, however, had lost 30 lbs by June 2014. I started going to school in person though, which meant 3 hours of driving 3 days a week plus studying for hours a day. I got lazy and started eating badly and not exercising. I gained 20 lbs back.

I hopefully start actual nursing school in January. I don't want to be the fat girl. How are people supposed to take me seriously about health when I myself weigh 100 lbs more than I should? That's what worries me most of all.

Long story short, I am with you. You can message me, we can motivate each other. I like having people to talk to about these things.

Good luck!

I am starting to get healthier tomorrow. For the last 3 weeks I have been in computer training for my new job and since coming off the floors last year and becoming a SN I have put on weight. Not so much on the scale, but in how I feel. I don't fee strong.

I walked today and almost died. I'd like to be boxing/kickboxing by Christmas.

Tomorrow I am going to start a lower carb diet, which will be hard for me as my favorite food is the lowly potato.

I have to get it back on my phone. I'm on fitnesspal.

Today is MY DAY. My butt is still sore from my walk yesterday and I'm ready to go.

I have been doing great if you don't count the 4 healthy pour glasses of Sauv Blanc I had when I was out last night.

Ummm, where is every one?

So, I'm convinced my friends are trying to kill me. We did this little trail today, and I'm not used to the roots and rabble and all that, it was pretty tough for me, cardio wise. I do walk hills here at home, so my legs and butt are okay, but the pavement is very different than an actual trail.
