Lee Child, Jack DuBrul, Patterson, Nevada Barr, Michael Connelly, PT Deutermann. These are just a few of my favorites. janet Evanovich's books are just down right funny. Also anything by Dave Barry is hilarious. All the books I have are in audio format so the readers make a BIG difference. I do like Tess Gerritsen and did enjoy The Da Vinci Code and Digital Fortress by Dan Brown. Lots to choose. Mike

Sue Monk Kidd-author of Secret Life of Bees. I loved that book, read it twice.

Also The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency by Alexander McCall Smith. Wonderful, wonderful book, I'm looking forward to reading the entire series about that intrepid Lady Detective.

Starting to read Eragon, by Paolini. It's a kid's book in the way Harry Potter is a kids' book, but I still loved them.

The Douglas Adam's Hitchhiker's series.

Edit to add: How could I forget?: Tuesdays with Morrie and The Five People You Meet in Heaven. Both made me laugh and cry.

The Secret Life of Bees is by Sue Monk Kidd . . . great book!

The House of God by Samuel Shem . . . .its an older book about interns. I'm almost finished and have spoken with some of the docs I work with who trained in the same time period and they say "yep, that is how it was". Which I find amazing . . I'm almost finished.

My next book will Carson McCullers "The Heart Is A Lonely Hunter".

Just finished Hidden Prey by John Sandford...love these books, total diversionary read. He has a series, all of them have "Prey" in the title, no need to read in order, each one stands alone.

I also finished The Taking by Dean Koontz recently, not bad if you enjoy Koontz, but not nearly as scary to me as his earlier books are.
