I'm one of those type of ladies who looks better with makeup on than without it. Its actually quite frightening when i don't have my face on at all. I enjoy the process of applying it and experimenting with different things. I'm more of a neutral-type of girl rather than colors. If I had to pick just one brand to wear, I'd say it would be MAC. I love the variety of the brand. I also enjoy Smashbox, Wet N Wild, Tarte, Maybelline and Urban Decay.

I wear Revlon Photoshop foundation, Urban Decay eyeshadow (does not BUDGE in 12+hours) and Kat Von D tattoo eyeliner (it stays put as well). Lipstick Queen lipstick also goes the distance -- might reapply in the afternoon if I have time. I'm a busy gal but also very vain and this is the makeup I have found that pretty much gets me through the day looking somewhat decent.

Estee lauder double wear foundation. My skin is soo oily & breaks out! Lately, I put tiny layer of milk of mag on my clean skin, once it dries, I rinse with water and pat dry. Then double wear foundation, put on thin layer with fingers. Then pat on powder and use soft fluffy brush to remove excess powder. OMG it works for me! And I have tried everything! No more red oily shiny greasy feeling face for me. And it lasts all day! I learned about this regime on

Some of us would look very unprofessional without makeup. I look tired and washed out if I don't have a bit of color on my face. I like Boots #7 foundation because it matches my skin tone so well. I have very fair skin and yet my undertone is yellowish, so many of the more traditional brands leave telltale makeup lines at the jaw. If I wear eye shadow, I go with Almay and when I wear mascara, it's Physician's Formula, both because my eyes are very sensitive. I typically go with just the foundation and a dab of both blush and lipstain at work. I should mention, though, that I work in an office, not on a floor, so I don't have the same issues with makeup lasting through a shift.

I mix and match many brands from walmart shops to department store ones. I look better with makeup on, even cake face version. when it wears off i have gotten the , " you look tired "comments. frankly most of the people commenting Are greatly over stepping their bounds. i get bad dark areas under my eyes . I should bring an extra set of face lotion, liquid foundation, powder and concealer to work but dont. I put on make up as a mask sometimes . i havent gone out in public without it in years. occasionally i resent that i must cover up my face as to not discourage some pt ( with regards to a previous comment about a lt waking up in the icu to a frumpy nurse)

Clinique Even Better Foundation because it looks natural and covers any blemishes without looking cakey!

Smashbox Studio Skin foundation + UD eyeshadow + UD eyeshadow primer = flawless face after 13 hours! This is with multiple patients in isolation too. It's pretty amazing.

Are you all kidding me? Who cares what kind of makeup you are wearing, unless you are looking to be betty boop nurse. I know when i'm at work my main concern is not weather or not my lipstick has staying power without drying; I'm concerned that my PATIENT has staying power. That's my main concern. I think that question makes us nurses sound petty and unprofessional. Questions like that belong on FB not a nurses forum. You don't know who is reading this and we have fought long and hard for the respect that we are finally starting to get. Oh and BTW I prefer to NOT wear makeup because it tends to smear after I work up a sweat running up and down the halls all day.
I think this is totally inappropriate too. I have some scars on my face. I wear makeup just to feel confident and not have everyone staring at me, feeling sorry for me.

There is a difference between going out and party makeup vs feeling confident.

Soap and water on a washcloth, but I take it off before I leave the bathroom. And Chapstik. That's it, for pretty much all my life, though I do put on a bit of eye shadow and blusher and lipstick for big dress-up. Sometimes I use the Burt's Bees lip color for the blusher, really blending it in to my skin, it becomes transparent and doesn't run. And boy, do I have nice skin

I don't wear makeup. Never did. My mom didn't. My sisters don't.
I'll admit, I look older that I am because I make no attempt to "fix up".
Maybe I'll add that to my list of things to do when I'm old.

This lipstick! Lipsense! It stays on all day and doesn't come off on your mask.

Clinique is my favorite, but because I have little impulse control in regards to makeup purchases, I wear drugstore makeup now. (Almay is my favorite, then CoverGirl). After wearing Clinique for years, then the drug store stuff for years, I see little difference in the actual makeup, although the skin products (from primers to make up removers) are far superior when purchased from Clinique. Plus Almay has an eye makeup line specific to eye color.
