Makeup that will last thru a 12 hr shift?

  1. Hi all!

Just wondering what type of makeup you wear that can last thru a 12 hour night shift!

I have a set makeup routine that usually works for my past 9-5 work days, but it just doesn't hold up for 12 hours.

    I use:
urban decay 24/7 eye pencil- doesn't last past 10 hours for me
nyx jumbo eye shadow pencil- doesn't last past 10 hours and starts running like crazy by the end of the day

Any good eye shadow pencil and eyeliner reccs?

Invest in a good face/eye primer, setting spray, oil blotting sheets, and water proof eye makeup.

I just plan for a lunchtime powder, lipstick an eyeliner touch up.

    I've given up

By the time I get home, I look like I did absolutely nothing to my face.

Why on earth would anyone wear makeup on night shift

I just put on moisturizer and go

Sue Deavitt fortifying primer. Cle de peau foundation and mascara. Allison Rafaelle Inner Glow for cheeks, burts bees tinted peppermint lip balm.

Hot flashes/sweating and night-shift on PD = no make-up; not worth it and who looks at me anyway?

I find that my eye liner gives me the most trouble. Everytime I cry it smudges and makes me look like a racoon.

    just joking

I knew there was a reason you had that eyeliner tattoo'd on your lids!

I pat on a similarly colored powder eye shadow over eyeliner/eye shadow pencil and use waterproof mascara (but only to upper lashes). For me, it rarely runs, even with all the crying and hot flashes

I found that eyeliner and shadow always smudges and I look like I've walked through the trenches of hell by the end of a 12hr shift. I just use It Cosmetics Bye Bye Undereye, Mac Mineral pressed powder, a little Estee Lauder Bronzer, and some mascara. It usually holds up well and I don't look/feel horrible.

I second a good primer. I ise Nyx Proof It (which turns your eye makeup waterproof). I use Bare Minerals foundation (with the Prime Time primer). I also use the Urban Decay 24/7 pencil and that baby stays put. I am guessing because of the primer. I also use the Naked 2 Basics palette on my eyes, Clinique High Impact mascara and the Nyx jumbo eye pencil in Milk on my waterline. That pencil def stays put. Do you uave very oily lids or watery eyes? That could be the culprit.

I used to wear make up to work during the 23 years I worked 12 hour nights.
By morning it was worn off so day shift thought I was really tired.
The older I got the more tired I looked without make up.
