It's 1:30 AM and I am going to bed now. It is all Ted's fault that I stayed up so late.

Hooray for the Red, White and Blue! Kudos to all those in the service to our country, blessings of safety upon you!

Enjoy your day in whatever big or small ways you celebrate! Enjoy your freedoms!

Good morning!

Happy Independence Day! Today is DS's birthday, so July 4th is the day I sort of lost my independence 22 years ago..LOL. Weather is iffy here. We're supposed to get the remnants of Arthur today, but hopefully it will just be a little rain. I'm headed off to NYC for the weekend in a bit.

Hope you all have a great holiday/great Friday~

Morning Stars and Herring

Happy 4th of July

Power went out briefly yesterday, thankfully it came back on fairly soon. And it didn't happen on a warm day, and occurred after I'd gotten most of my work done.

Got outside for a walk last night, now that that rain has stopped (for now) it's not as humid. The rain should hold off for today.

Going to see dad on Sunday. Today I'm going to go on a fairly long bike ride I'd been planning, in the far western suburbs along a trail that used to be an old railroad track. Hope it goes well, haven't done a lot of long rides lately.

Not sure what else I'll do, probably just watch a movie and take it easy. Weather will be unusually cool for this time of year.

Mornin' to all.

Getting packed up and grocerified for a short camping trip.

Made reservations Monday nite.

Friends texted they needed to get away from fireworks because of one terrified canine. Sedatives don't seem to work, and they wanted to get her away completely from any loud noises.

We scored two campsites and are meeting them up at a lake.

It will be nice and quiet, as NO fireworks are allowed anywhere close to the wilderness areas.

We will have their two and our one pup, and plan a relaxing weekend.

Some picking.

some reading

some walking

some gabbing (lol, almost typed gagging!)

Looking forward to trying out a new campground.

Well, better get going, got a few things to do before leaving.

Y'all have a safe and enjoyable Fourth!

Good morning! Sitting here waiting for my son, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter to get here. They stopped for the night on the way down in Ashland, which isn't really that far from us but it is if you've been driving for 5 hours and your baby is crying.

I'm on call - yesterday was a busy day for the hospice nurse but I'm hoping what she did for the patients will hold for at least a day. Gonna be hard to pry the baby from my arms.

Sounds like everyone has some fun plans. Our fireworks up here are never on the 4th - it is part of a 3 day local celebration that ends with the fireworks. Queen Contest, parade, etc.

Right now I'm the only one awake as husband and son slept in. It is nice right now - not too hot.

Enjoy your Independence Day!

Good Morning and Happy 4th of July for those who celebrate!

Just woke up. Drinking First Coffee. Work, last night, was slooooooooooow. Had no patients in our teeny-tiny ICU. All I did was monitor one Med/Surg Telemetry patient, and that patient was just fine (in a controlled rate of A-fib).

At present, it's raining outside. There were lots of lightening and thunder earlier. Doesn't seem like there will be much opportunity for any out-door activity. Not sure if there'll be any fireworks tonight if this rather heavy rain continues. (I guess all of this rain is whatever is left of Hurricane Arthur.)

Anyway, I have tonight and tomorrow night off from work. There is a church-related music project that I think I'll work on. Haven't started this particular project, yet. This rainy and wet day seems like a nice time to start it, though.

Hope all who travel here have a pleasant day. Peace, folks! :)

Ted

Good Friday to you all and Happy 4th.

Sheesh, life has been so busy lately it dawned on me this morning I haven't dropped by in a while. Hi! :wavey:

Good to read you all. Will need to catch up on the previous GM threads to see what everyone is up to.

Having a lazy morning. Reading a book and contemplating getting up, showered, and downstairs to make a good breakfast. Looking forward to the 3 day weekend.

I have been working a lot, reading (novels) a lot. Plan to do the latter this weekend.

Planning to visit my hubby's cousin soon (road trip). They want to get together and do some off-roading in Colorado. It will be a nice trip. His cousin is retiring from the Army (23 years of duty, I think) so we are also going to Colorado for his retirement party. Looking forward to it. :)

Better get going. See ya.

Happy 4th. Being close to Philly means lots of things on TV and not having to go to any of the hullabaloo. I have been baking cookies all day. I still have one kind to make but ran out of eggs. I have been considering borrowing an egg so I can finish. A friend will stop and pick up eggs on his way here later. I have gone through almost 2 doz. but really did not realize how many until I looked in the second box to find it almost empty.

I should become the next Mrs, Fields, I love to make cookies.

Last night brief elect. outage while at work. Immediate return of power and just rebooting of all the computers in the store. The lightning was not as bad as the night before but the wind was worse. I think we dodged Arthur as it is beautiful now.

Well, laundry to start and cookies to pack. Better get going. Enjoy the rest of the day.

Good Evening to you all,

Worked on call from 8-5 and am thankful it is finished. I had to run up to VA to pronounce as there was only an LPN on call up there. I drove for 70 minutes to get there. Did what I needed to do at the facility which was so nice and the staff were awesome.

Was only home for 10 minutes and got sent to the other end of VA where there was another death and apparently an LPN on call there. So I drove 61 miles only to get a phone call 3/4 of the way there saying the nurse was actually an RN. Don't know why but I laughed my head off, turned around and came back home so lots of miles today and I am bushed.

Got changed and took the dogs for a leisurely walk in beautiful sunshine with a breeze and no humidity.

Had an hellacious storm here last night with a few inches of rain, our creek was the highest we have ever seen it. Still it was well received.

Planning to get out sometime over the weekend to do the mowing and after that relaxation for this girl as I am exhausted with 23 visits done in 4 days.

Next week I am looking at 6-7 visits every day with only 3 visits on Tuesday because it is our IDG meeting which I am looking forward to.

Hope you are all doing well this day and Happy July 4th to you all. We will sit outside and watch the fireworks that are let off over the hill. Does not worry the dogs as it is a good distance away from us but we get to enjoy the show. LOL

Take care and much love to you all.

Glad you had a good day with your son. I hope tonight is an OK shift.

I've worked many 4th of july nights, but off tonight.

The worst was years ago when someone threw a fire cracker and another young person had to have an eye removed.
