Yee-haw! Let's break out the plywood, candles, and jugs of water! Here in coastal NC we won't get any until August and September. Are the gulf coast people prepped? I think this year will be a rough one, although I still love a good hurricane party! -Andrea

After the time we had with Isabelle last year I am going to get a generator.

I have heard the same as you...above average activity.

I am in coastal Virginia so I have a little time.

Woohoo! Surf's up! Seriously, my crazy dh & his twin go to Gulf Shores whenever there's a storm about 2 days south of us out in the Gulf. Makes for pretty good waves AND an empty beach.

You have to be special to live on the coast! I just live here in OK. where God sends Tornados to torment us, I could see how a person could get into a Hurricane Mood tho

I went to see The Day After Tomorrow yester day and just about giggled my self to death! They are in a sea of tornadoes, and the local newsguy is out in front of the camera reporting (go inside you dummy!). He says "and here's a tornado right behind me...and here's another one to my left...and here..." SMUCK!! Hit in the kisser by a house....

Not ready. Never ready. I'm bad at hurricane prep.

Another gift from mother nature that I despise. Thank God I don't live where you guys do!

I am excited! I survived my first hurricane ever last year with Isabel. I rent so I don't have to worry about my own real estate being damaged, so I will enjoy it while I can!

Isabel was my first hurricane where I was by myself in an apartment. I was in the dorms when Floyd hit, so I don't consider that...plus I slept thru it. Isabel, I was awake. Trying to figure out how to get to some of the rural parts of NC to pick up our early morning dialysis patients (worked for a medical transport company). Kinda prepared this year...don't bother boarding windows or taping them though. No trees around or anything. -Andrea

I'm a Gulf coaster. Nope, not prepared, even though the water company has been urging us to get ready for a few months.

I've been in NC for most of my hurricanes, but never had to do my own "prep". Any ideas on what to get ready?

I'm down here on the coast in Mobile, and we haven't had a "good" hurricane hit in years. They always go to one side of us or the other. I worked in a grocery store for years and every time there was a hurricane threat the store was , of course, bombarded. the two biggest sellers.....Beer and Cigarettes!

My second year living in NC we had 2 hurricanes back to back! Yes, I am in Wilmington and we were hit twice within a month of each other! What an experience! I love hurricanes and I love getting prepped for them. Didn't have a generator for the first two, but got one for the next one and it was put to use. I HAVE TO HAVE MY MORNING COFFEE, YA KNOW!:smokin:

Rather have hurricanes than the tornadoes that I lived through in Ohio or the blizzard I lived through in Colorado!

Won't ever consider moving to California with the earthquakes! Volcanoes are not an option either.
