Now we will have Trump's brand of self before service ethics at the helm of our country and military.

Well done America.

Interesting article from GQ (from last August) -- Trump as cult leader?

The Cult of Trump | GQ

Looking at a couple of people I've just put on my ignore list, they do seem as if they've been brainwashed in a cult.

Yeah, makes a lot of stuff make sense, doesn't it.

People who live in ideological or information bubbles are susceptible to brainwashing.

But they're so so angry. I'd find maintaining that level of anger and hate exhausting. It's as if they're mentally ill. Or they haven't had nookie since the Clinton administration, who knows.

I found all that "Lock Her Up" chanting at Trump rallies absolutely mindblowing. It was like the five minute hate session from the 1984 movie. Cult like.

And now grade-schoolers chanting "Build the wall, build the wall!" I really liked the Clinton ad showing children watching some of Trump's uglier moments: "Our children are watching." What are they learning? And do we really want to teach children these things?

I realize Trump was often just throwing red meat to the base. The thing that bothers me is how base some of that base is. I'm sorry, but we didn't hear that stuff from Hillary. I just hope Trump realizes that he's going to have to behave like a grown-up now, because our children apparently are watching.

While we are responsible for the moral and ethical upbringing of our children, it is difficult to pretend that societal "norms don't heavily influence them as well."

Isn't that notion part of what drives social conservatives trying to legislate a particular brand of religious morality?

I'm sure that, if he were capable of doing that on a consistent basis (e.g., for more than thirty minutes at a time), he would have done it before now. He has already showed everyone his true colors.

Is it ethical to appoint a white nationalist to head up your transition team to the white house?

Is it ethical to run on a campaign of outsiders and then appoint a bunch of lobbyists and lifetime politicians to your staff and key positions?

Is it ethical to maintain close relationship to your personal and family business which has global connections while governing the most powerful nation on the planet?

If he appoints his children to his team while they are running the family business, will that be ethical?

It is going to be a very interesting 4 years.

So Trump said that the law is on his side and that the President can't have a conflict of interest.

Can't

ha

And he's not even in office yet and he's already exploiting it for his business purposes, to line his own pockets. It's certainly going to be an interesting four years (if he makes it that long).
