Last night I was drowning in a sea of self-pity (yes, it was a pathetic moment), because of how hard nursing school is. But then I thought, ya know, I don't think it would be that bad if I didn't have all those other life-things to do. Grocery shopping? Oil changes? Come on universe, I'm trying to write a care plan. Back off. I think a personal assistant would solve all my problems. And yes, this is a rather pointless thread (thus I put it in the Breakroom like a good girl). But I needed a break from studying electrolytes.

Househusband. Young guys do chores, I'm told.

I lived at home during nursing school. With my parents. I worked 35 hours a week in a group home and was able to devote Sun-Thursday to school. My mom had cancer (and worked) and my Dad has MS ( and worked) so I still did most of the chores, but still.

I'd love someone to pay the bills, balance the checkbook, clean the house, do that laundry, mow the lawn, pick up the dog poo, grocery shop. . ..no, wait . . . I don't like it when other people grocery shop for me.

I am sighing a great big deep breath of relief that yesterday was technically my last day at my school nurse job.

Now, wishing someone would just give me free medical bene's and I'd just do my less-than-part-time hospice job!

Nursing school . . . 20 years ago. Wow. That is so freaky. Anyway . . . my mom lived with us and she helped with the kids and the house and making dinner.

We didn't get along much and she was convinced OJ didn't do it . . . which was what I heard every day when I came home from school. She would be glued to the tv watching the trial.

But still . . . . . . . . she cleaned, cooked, and took care of the kids.

When I was in LVN school my Grandma lived with us. She and my husband were great friends. I'm so thankful my kids got to know her. She and my Mom loved each other, but argued a lot.

My husband took the kids to school on clinical days. Once they didn't get dressed so he took them to school in their pajamas.

Grandma ironed my uniforms. I had two, but we had to wear them every day. With the pinafore the three clinical days, and just the dress on the other two. I worked registry as a CNA.

It would have been impossible if not for my family.

By the time I attended RN school Grandma was dead. Kids were in high school. I worked four 8 hour nights a week and attended school four days the last year.

A lady I work with doesn't cook, has somebody come in and do laundry and clean her house. She works for 3 hospitals PRN, and frequently works 28 nights/month. It works for her. I couldn't imagine working that much, but I'd love to have somebody clean and do my dishes. My schedule right now is screwy. I have no problem working 3 nights in a row, but when I work 1, of 1, work 1, I spend more of my nights off recovering and not getting **** done.

I've tried various planners to try to help organize myself, but all it did was cost me more money. I bought all sorts of stamps and stickers to make it a "fun" thing to do, and encourage me to keep it up. Yeah, my latest planner hasn't been opened in over a month. Some good it does me.

Maybe i should just work All. The. Time. And let somebody else do my chores. How much does a personal assistant cost?

If I had a personal assistant, my bed would already be remade with the freshly washed and dried bedding, and I wouldn't have to drag my tired, numb-from-sitting, stayed-up-too-late-again hiney up outta this sofa and go make the bed so I can go to sleep!

Hahhahahahaa!

Look at bright, shiny, hopeful, "I'm going to be a NURSE someday!" Davey Do

and divorced, jaded, "Yea...I'm going to date your daughter!" Davey Do.
