You are reading page 6 of I see quite alot of tall nurses. If you want to start from the beginning Go to First Page.

Can I just say the title makes me think of this? Hyperbole and a Half: The Alot is Better Than You at Everything

Also, the companies making patient and OR beds need to consider making them longer. I shouldn't have to go steal a piece off an OR bed in another room to use as an extension for my patient who is 6" taller than the bed is long.

I love Hyperbole and a Half and was totally going to link that if it wasn't already here.

At 6'1" I fit the OPs stereotype. Start nursing school in the fall.

Guess my local hospital already have the longer beds in patient rooms, or put me in rooms with the longer beds. I've spent a couple extended stays at the hospital but the bed was long enough for me.

I get bullied by the tall people at work. They think it's funny to put the ceiling IV polls on the shortest setting so I can't reach it. After watching me struggle a bit they will come in laughing and pat me on the head saying "now now little one" as they lower it back. I now have a fear of giants. I can't even read my kid Jack and the Beanstalk anymore.

NETY becomes NETS (Nurses eat their shorties...)

I hear ya! When we aren't in the States, we live in Central Asia, where it would seem the average height is about 5'7", men and women alike. We are both 6"+. We were told to try to blend in. We laughed.

Ahem, I couldn't figure out the edit to correct an error....my husband and I are somewhat taller than 6 inches........by about 5'6" +.......

I really don't understand why we can't figure this problem out. I don't see them as often now, but as a kid our dining room tables had leaf we could insert in the middle to make it longer. We should have beds that can do this with like an insert mattress or something along those lines to extend it.

Oh, beds that extend the foot exist. Just not to the point of being able to comfortably hold the person who is 6'5" or taller, at least in my area.

I have never seen them. Not in the ER's anyway with our stretchers in any of the hospitals I have worked at.

Honestly I don't even know why I care about tall people with all they put me through. :p

All that NETS and you still have that caring heart ❤️.

You NEED to write that article. Overcoming NETS, trials and tribulations.

I guess my hospital took all the short ones. I actually had an adolescent patient ask me once, "Do you have to be under a certain height or something to be a nurse here?"

Maybe all the short ones went into pediatrics so they could feel tall. Someone should do a study on it.

Well, now I know what my next MSN research project will be. Thanks, AN! :)

But I work with alot of short nurses. So maybe the shorties ate the tall ones after school. Like hyenas bringing down a gazelle.
