i have tons of white pants but that's because in addition to white showing everything, i'm a slob also. as for tops, i don't care for scrub tops but i do wear the long lab coats; they hide a multitude of sins.

I'm still in school, too, and I work as a tech in an ICU. I have two pairs of white pants, two pairs of navy pants, three navy scrub tops, two jackets, and 3 print tops. I think I need about 2 more pairs of white pants to get through school and work this summer (I'm in clinical 3 days a week).

I have probably ten pairs if you don't include the ones I refuse to wear (except for when the laundry is majorly backed up :rotfl: ).

My favorite pants are Landau because they last forever. I personally like lots of pockets so I get the cargo kind. I've recently made the switch to drawstring waists, but I used to hate them...go figure.

Wal-Mart's "simply basic" scrub tops are okay, but don't have the double pockets on the bottom unless you get a button up. Stay away from the "Simply Basic" scrub pants because they are notoriously bad about "piling" on the inner thighs within two weeks....maybe they wouldn't do that if your thighs weren't chunky like mine. :coollook:

I have about 8-10 sets, with printed tops and solid pants that I wear routinely and another 5-6 older sets that I seem to keep as spares (if the laundry gets behind).

I don't like solid tops (shows spots too easy) or printed tops with small patterns. Many of the residents (poor eyesight?) seem to like the slightly larger prints that I have (hearts, butterflies, cats, dogs, frogs, turtles, etc.)

:balloons:

Several months ago, I had purchased a couple of tops, think it might be 'Life Uniform" at the mall. They seemed to be cut smaller than the Peaches, Cherokee, Barco brands. The Disney top I got at JC Penny with Tinkerbell on a black background, has only been washed 3-4 times and the background appears a little faded (had forgotten that black looks like dark gray after washing.)

Recently at Work 'n Gear I purchased a top with a dog that I thought was cute. When I wore it to work I found out who "Clifford" is. :lol2:

Seven pairs of white pants, and 32 scrub tops. Some solids, some prints. The ones I like best are the ones that I had custom made.

HellllloNurse, where do you have them custom made? A tailor? I feel like all my scrub tops are always look funny on me.

But to answer the question I have about 5 full pairs (solid colors) and a few extra bottoms.

At last count 57 ,is that not crazy?

Good morning all,

Just curious how many sets of scrubs everyone has hanging in their closet.

I am RN student, starting a new job as a nursing assistant in two weeks and haven't a clue how many sets I should have to start with.

So, how many do you have?

Prints or solids?

Any brand better than another?

Thanks,Berta

Of course, if I don't have enough, its a wonderful excuse to go shopping, eh? :rotfl:

WOW, some of you have quite a few scrubs. Now I don't feel so bad for having purchased 6 sets. I guess I'll just have to see how that works for me. Thanks for your replies. Please continue to let me know how the various brands hold up.

I love the idea of custom made scrubs!!! Did it you cost a small fortune? I had actually priced doing it myself, however the pattern was 13.95 and the material would have cost about $12, plus my time and energy. I figured it would be cheaper to buy them.

My next question is do you wash your scrubs seperate from your families laundry? You know the germ issue....I used to wash my scrubs from clinical seperate, but that only lasted for about two weeks. Now that I'm gonna be working in them more often, I could save them up and wash them together. I don't know, keeping them around for a week will really give those nasty germs a chance to breed. What do you think?

Thanks, Berta

Berta...

I don't know where you live, but around here the fabric stores often have sales where you can get the pattern for 99 cents to $1.99. And JoAnn fabrics will send 40% off coupons with their mailer if you sign up (it can also be done online). That is how I made one particular scrub top for $8.50 instead of paying the $36 they wanted in the store (I kid you not! This really did happen...actually, I bought the top then saw the SAME material at the fabric store so I took it back and got a cheaper top and a pair of pants on clearance!!)

Of course, that is IF you can find some fabrics you like! I still want several other pre-made tops...just because I like them!

Holy Cow!!!57 sets WOW..how big is your closet?? Got any other clothes in there?? lol

I could very well buy a couple of dozen at one of the uniform shops nearby. They have the best selections and such pretty colors. However, I think my hubby would object.

I am also curious how many sethoscopes people have. I have 4. One I bought and 3 I received as gifts. I'd have more, but I tell people not to buy them for me. I don't think I'll object to sets of scrubs however.

I have nine sets of scrubs. However, I don't always wear my tops. I occasionally wear sweaters, turtlenecks, or long-sleeved tees. Depending on my mood. Only one stethescope.

I haven't counted, but half my closet is scrubs... thanks to eBay!

I've bought brand new, with tags, pants & cartoon scrub tops for $5 each on eBay, and used but like-new condition for as low as 50 cents.

I also have about a half-dozen sets of really nice scrubs (like white swan's silk-ease) that I wear when I want to look a little more professional.
