GHG: silver wires, and empty lairs, while pretending nothing is wrong? repeatedly drowning a dog?

I read for delight and escapism, exploring other worlds and points of view, history and mystery, anyone else?

Does anyone read books written by Stephen King?

I used to, but then got turned off by the repetitiveness (and the increase in the book prices at the stores). Last one I read was one that he co-authored with someone else and I thought it was almost awful.

What about the fact that many of his books were 4 inches thick?

Can I say, by way of an answer, that the only thing I found horrible was the vivid descriptions of the thick, ropey dog slobber?
