I just wanted to say hello to everyone and introduce myself, so to speak.  I am 53 y.o. (54 this year) man, a graduate of a 3-year nursing diploma program, (as well as a BSN) and have been an RN for 28 years.  I live in the Pacific Northwest and am currently employed as a staff nurse in General Surgery.  I am a regular contributor on the other side of AN, but recently stumbled into this area (Breakroom) and actually much prefer its friendly, rather 'homey and welcoming atmosphere.  I love travel, reading, camping, backpacking, hiking, food, craft beer and dream of retirement everyday-😂.  Looking forward to chatting with you all:)

Not sure what happened with my initial post^^^  Anyway, I just wanted to say hello to everyone and introduce myself, so to speak.  I am 53 y.o. Welcome More!

Yes, I think you will find most of us welcoming on “this side.”

Many of us contribute to the Daily Diary, under the Clubs section. Feel free to join in. Easterners usually start it, and us west coasters finish up.

I too am from the Pacific Northwest! Some crazy wind we been having, eh?

Nice to meet you.   I've been an RN for 28 years also.  Class of 1992!  Time flies.

Hope you join us in the daily thread.

Welcome! Nice to meet you. Hope to see you on the "Blue Side" more often. I sometimes forget that there's the "Yellow Side", and probably should visit it more often! (Believe it or not, there once was only just one large forum to this nursing web-site!)

I tell younger nurses that I remember when smoking (patients, employees, physicians) was commonplace in hospitals and when a doctor would never have worn an ID badge.  Looking back, it seems like another lifetime now.

Welcome!!

It's nice to meet you!  I've been a NP for the last 10.5 years, from the New England area.  I think we're having the same weather as you-windy, with snow in the forecast for later this week.  Feel free to keep it all on the West Coast.
