Repealing internet privacy protections passed in the final days of the Obama presidency, congress has allowed internet providers to sell our browsing history to the highest bidder. You are reading page 2 of Has Our Privacy Just Been Sold to the Highest Bidder?. If you want to start from the beginning Go to First Page.

To me, this sounds like a more sophisticated than usual deflection in defense of the GOP. Yes, we're all aware that anything we do on the internet can be tracked and hacked, and nothing ever really disappears. But to justify rolling back these regulations by saying, Oh well, it doesn't matter because they already do it, is, IMO, no different than saying, well, people rob banks anyway, so we might as well repeal the laws against robbing banks.

That is not what it was at all. The only thing I knew about these regulations is that they hadn't taken effect yet and reading what was on this thread brought to mind the assembly at the local high schools.

That's all.

"Deflection in defense of the GOP" . . . that's funny. As I said, I didn't read the regulations or the reasons behind them or the reasons to roll this back.

Just an aside and clarification in re-reading my post tonight. I do use more than FB for social media. I've been coming here for about 15 years.

And the other thing the DA and Cyper-Crime Sheriff mentioned to the kids is that having naked photos of under 18 year old people on your cell phone is child pornography. And you could ruin your chances of college or a future job for some silly sexting photos.

It's funny you should mention this: tacked on to the middle of your article are adverts from my last online Google search. I wanted to laugh - but I was too scared.

3ringnursing . . . EXACTLY!!

There is another thread talking about googling your name and seeing how much private info comes up. Including your address, where your kids to go school, etc.

There is no privacy anymore.

Because privacy is challenging in a digital era does not mean that we should declare it dead and then allow corporate interests to devour the remaining remnants. Instead, we should be motivated to fight renewed for our constitutional rights which are endangered by the greed of con men who call themselves patriots.

Remember though, those who commit crimes against the public are the original cause for us all being watched in the first place. We are now also being watched by cameras of all types, including in our computers & TVs. Privacy has disappeared.

This posting is sooo inappropriate for this site. Furthermore it is not evidenced based. You need to research this leg. action for the real wording, history and implications before making an idiot out of yourself by writing this And publishing it. Since when did this site become a political bashing weapon. And why is it that any pro-life, pro Trump conservative views just happen to not be published on AllNurses. (PS news flash! you don't represent all nurses!!) Seems to me this article is exemplary of why nursing is still at the bottom of the heap, bullying each other, scrapping with each other, tearing each other down, lateral workplace violence...no reason; just bottom feeding mentality.

Google, Facebook sold your private info years ago, even your nursing boards sell your name and info to the highest bidder...true, look it up. Ever heard of cookies??? Use a private browser! And guess what??? You can change this by behaving like a responsible citizen and contacting your representatives en masse to object and change it. Or do you simply prefer to yell, scream, name call, destroy private property in the name of protest, and behave like one of those neanderthals seen on the news. I am thinking you are one of those loud mouthed, do nothing, just bellow, blowhard people who would rather write offensive blogs than actually tackle the hard job of political action. A Pelosi type who says we have to pass it so we know whats in it.

You seem upset?

I've seen posters who support Trump and posters who are pro-life post here on AllNurses so I'm not sure where this is coming from. Trump supporters do appear to be a minority on this site but according to polls they are a minority nationwide (and dare I say it, worldwide) as well, not only in this particular microcosm.

WOW, so that is why he swept the election even with Beyonce and JayZ giving their all. Seems this quote from Gandhi is appropriate here. The conservative path described in his wisdom. What polls..CNN, NBC, ABC,CNBC??? and how reliable were those predicting the election..hmmm?

First they ignore you. Then they laugh at you. Then they fight you. Then you win.

How so? This is the non-nursing side of allnurses, and in fact is the political forum.

Furthermore it is not evidenced based.

This is a message board, not a research facility. Opinion is permitted.

And why is it that any pro-life, pro Trump conservative views just happen to not be published on AllNurses.

There are many posters who are pro-life and support Trump. If they wished to write an article for allnurses, they are welcome to do so.

As a free-market idealist . . . this story is more complicated than the mean old government is selling our privacy. That horse (privacy) has already left the barn door. I did read about some safety issues consumers can take regardless and one is making sure the sites you frequent are https, which I didn't know is safer.

What polls..CNN, NBC, ABC,CNBC??? and how reliable were those predicting the election..hmmm?

What polls? Well, pretty much all polls. Not even Fox News puts him over 50% approval rate.

President Trump's approval rating drops in Fox News poll | On Air Videos | Fox News

If you watch the clip at 02:37 you'll see the following approval rates from Fox News' poll:

Handling of the:

Economy: 47%

Terrorism: 45%

Immigration: 41%

Healthcare 35%

U.S.-Russia relations: 33%

He didn't even get a majority of the people's votes on election day and since then his support seems to have dwindled down to his base voters (~35-38% or so). It shouldn't really come as a big surprise considering the administrations less than stellar performance so far.
