Good Happy Early Morning Everyone! I'm soooo glad Saturday is here even though I am doing 2 HH admissions tomorrow and 1 on Sunday. Extra money for Alaskan Cruise. Less than a week now until my #2 grandbaby, Morgen, arrives. I can't wait to see him. If he's only half as sweet as Wyatt he'll be irresitable. Grandchildren are so wonderful. You always hear it but until you have one you don't quite understand it.

I had a pt today that made me crazy. She insisted I stick her where she told me for her IV. Ok, didn't get it. Again, she absolutely insisted I stick her where she told me, again no luck, not even a flashback. "I'm __ years old, I think I should know where I should be stuck". Um...I've been doing this for 32 years with an excellent track record why don't you let me pick the next spot? "No absolutely not only I know where I need to be stuck. (under my breath, okay lady here goes nothing) again, not even a flashback. Then I said to her....now it's my turn and I was very firm. I got a great flashback, threaded beautifully and she says "if I were to move my arm back like this it would pull right out" well she suddenly pulled her arm back and yep she was right it did pull right out. After this I had had it with her. Got someone else to stick her. 3 more tries before another IV was in and quickly secured. Gees. Then she complains...."my appt was an hour ago". She then continued on with more oddball antics but I'll spare you. When she finally left I felt like I needed a drink.

Other than the episode with her it was a very good day.

Awwwwwwww, Dutch, how frustrating re: the woman and the IV. Irritating, actually. Glad it's behind you. Tomorrow is another day! :)

I have no clue who the man in the picture is.

How exciting, that Morgen's birth is so very near!  :w00t:

Shooooooooooo, I'm tired!! We had a practice tonight. From 7:30 to 11:00!!

Then dh and I had to pack up the instruments and come home!

I'm ready for a shower and for bed!!!

Y'all have a good day!! :) :)

He looks a little like the main guy on CSI (Las Vegas, I think, the original one).

Good morning Dutch! Sounds like you and me both had rotten days - but I think you win.

Don't know about grandchildren but I know that I've never seen my parents laugh and smile so much as when my girls (what I call my nieces) are with them. Kennedy especially is attached to mom and wanders around the house yelling "mamaw" if mom is not within sight - even if I'm right there. Emma and I are much closer because we have the same personality. I'm the only one she lets read to her and play with her in her 'alone' tent. She'll come up to me and whisper in my ear she loves me and I whisper back. I love them all equally but Emma is my sweetheart. And her laugh - I wish I could bottle it up! She has the infectious laugh that once she starts everyone starts cracking up.

I got called off today low census. Needed the money but it's my turn. Only 5 patients.

Good morning Tina! I was thinking the guy was in several Lifetime movies or maybe a soap opera. He looks familiar though.

WOW congrats!!!! :balloons: :spin:

I remember seeing that guy wasn't he in Melrose Place? I think he was also in Lifetime movies, probably a Daniel Steel movie. This weekend is tax-free weekend here in NC, so I will be going to the outlets and stocking up on clothes and stuff for school.

Morning, All:

I have found out that there is nothing WORSE than to have to babysit a dog who is not only on steroids...but whose master is also out of town.

My BIL's dog is driving me CRAZY. He barked and barked and barked last night until my Nephew finally arrived home around 12:15 this morning. My Nephew took him upstairs and into his room, which is right across the hall from mine and shut the door. I went straight to bed afterwards....only to wake up sometime during the night and find him in my room.....eating up all my cats' food! :angryfire

I bolted out of bed and ran him out of my room and down the stairs, hissing: "Get your $&@! out of here! When he then made a beeline for my sister's cats' dry food, which she keeps in her downstairs bathroom, I had to take it up, too.

He is now lying down on the floor inside the bathroom, which is just outside my bedroom....for he knows better than to step paw back inside. I just hope to GOODNESS that my BIL and sister come home today!

I was fiddling around with my e-mail earlier this morning, when I somehow managed to find the AWOL HR rep's e-mail address. In a last ditch attempt to find out something about the status of my application for the CM position which I interviewed for OVER three weeks ago, I sent her an e-mail, politely asking her to advise if I am still being considered. What does she possibly have to lose, by giving me a "Yes" or "No" answer?: Nothing!

One thing's for sure: I can't survive on the job I have now. In addition to averaging less than 30 hours a pay period, I am having to fork out money for CPR recertification and TB testing, which this company's Corporate office refuses to reimburse me for. I am also losing money right and left, due to the high cost of fuel for my car...not to mention depreciation and maintenance. In other words, I simply cannot affordthis job...and the sooner I find something else, the better off I will be.

Going to be another hot day, with temps in the mid-90's.

Have a good weekend!

Good Morning to you all. TGIS is all I can say LOL

What a busy week it has been in the field of Hospice. The rate I am going I will need to get a new vehicle as the miles are flying fast on my speedometer.

Last two weeks I have travelled just under 1000 miles to see my case load.

When one starts to steadily decline it seems to spur others on to do the same. VERY hard when you have two active patients that are over 50 miles apart. Makes for interesting time management I have to say.

Today is relaxation, fun day, whoop my hubby's butt at Ping Pong. He has been teaching me as I had never played it before. Now I am winning the majority of the games LOL :lol2: He reckons he has created a monster. Bwwwhahahahahahaaaaaaa:devil::devil::devil::devil:

No matter how your week has been take time to hug your family, spoil yourself and relax.

You are all a great bunch of very helpful nurses and even though I have not been around for very long on AN.com I feel I know some of you well. I enjoy our banter and informative discussions.

I have mentioned to many nurses where I work about allnurses and hinted they need to check it out LOL

Toodle ooooo for now.

Yikes!!! Its grad day for me.

How could school go so darn slow that I feel like I have been in nursing school for my entire life, and so darn fast when it comes to graduation day . . . . . . .

Anywho! everyone have a great weekend.
