The 'Golden Girl' celebrates her 99th birthday on Sunday, 1/22. She is a 'golden' treasure. I hope NOT to jinx her, but in July, I commented re Olivia DeHaviland's 104th BD and then she died within the month. Hope all is well with her as I read she's in quarantine (?). Hoping her BD is a Happy Day for her.
Jan 16, 2021 by herring_RN, ASN, BSN Betty White is the first person I remember on TV. I was with my Mommy and grandmother at Marshall Fields Department store. We didn't have a TV yet. There was a TV in a wooden cabinet on a table. Betty White was showing a refrigerator, opening the door and such. Then there was a closeup of her face. I looked under the table and got frightened. I yelled, "Where's the rest of her?" People laughed, but I'd never before seen a person talking without a body. ?
Jan 17, 2021 by No Stars In My Eyes, LPN I think she had the world's best dimples when she smiled. I remember seeing her and Allen Ludden on the game show he emcee'd; and boy-oh-boy did they flirt! Wasn't a bit surprised when they married.
