Imagine going to bed one night and waking up to the news that someone you love died in the middle of the night, not from a medical condition or an accident, but because of mistaken identity. Imagine that same person worked as a frontline worker risking their lives every day; instead of being honored, their character is being smeared. The police officers acted on a warrant from an individual already in custody. Instead of admitting to the mistake, they are covering it up. Instead of owning up to the fact, the only crime was on the police part, allowing the person to bleed to death for 20 minutes and no administration of first aid. The irony is Breoanna Taylor worked as an EMT and has come to the rescue of countless people, and after her death, the attempt to smear her name and character is disheartening. We, as Nurses, must unite and demand justice for Breonna Taylor. https://www.standwithbre.com/ Edited Sep 1, 2020 by luv2

Sep 2, 2020 by herring_RN, ASN, BSN I think "No Knock Warrants" should not be allowed. Quote More than two months after Taylor’s death, Louisville Mayor Greg Fischer announced last week that the police department’s use of no-knock warrants has been suspended indefinitely. Civil rights advocates are calling for a permanent ban, though Oregon and Florida are the only states that have outlawed such warrants. https://www.latimes.com/world-nation/story/2020-06-01/breonna-taylor-police-death-fuels-call-end-no-knock-warrants https://reason.com/2020/03/16/maryland-man-killed-in-no-knock-swat-raid-was-shot-while-asleep-family-says/ https://www.npr.org/2019/02/19/695926963/houston-police-to-cease-no-knock-warrants-chief-announces-after-deadly-raid https://nypost.com/2019/11/29/a-false-tip-fraudulent-warrant-no-knock-raid-and-two-innocents-dead/ https://www.ammoland.com/2019/02/police-issuing-no-knock-warrant-results-in-officers-death/#axzz6WqHwNnJh https://www.texasmonthly.com/news/a-no-knock-raid-in-houston-led-to-deaths-and-police-injuries-should-police-rethink-the-practice/
Sep 2, 2020 by Lil Nel Breonna Taylor's boyfriend, who was with her the night she was killed, is suing lots of people in KY, including the state's AG, who is a McConnell protege. Hope he wins a nice big settlement.
