Stars here's hoping that Nanny improves with the medication changes

Work was a bit crazy again, at least in the morning, lots of people answering calls.  Though it was productive.  The afternoon was thankfully calmer, as I had gotten behind due to the morning and had time to catch up

J's allergies were bothering him yesterday, so we delayed dinner until tonight

So last night I exercised and did crafting instead

The cat sitter is coming this evening to pick up the keys,  Since the trip is 2 weeks off I'll give final instructions later

Cat is still declining the canned food, have tried at least half a dozen flavors

Weather has turned cooler again, though I think it will be a bit warmer during the weekend.  Glad it will be a 3 day weekend for me

Good morning!

Joe hope you have a good day and a good night out with J.

Ted, hope you got a lot of editing done and had a good day.

J22, sorry that the husband has to continue with a pureed food.  Does he have weight to lose?  Is that a good thing?

Stars, so sorry that Nannie had to come home and unexpectedly like that.  They dropped the ball.  But at least she has some days left should she need to go back.  I hope it goes okay as it can.

Dianah, sounds like some hectic times.

Off today.  I already took my walk..did 7 miles. It's cooler in the mornings.  Waiting for a confirmation that I can pick up more eye drops for SlowBro.  They sent me home with too little and I'm out and he's missed two doses already.  He's doing well on them.  Otherwise a normal solo day off.

Have a great day.

I hope everything go well for you, Stars and the 3 of you are safe. It seems like amoLucia has some good advice and experience with the system.

Joe, I am glad you were able to catch up your work and could relax afterwards. I find exercise really helps. I found a new meditation app that I am liking.

Tweety, how long does it take you walk 7 miles? I think my legs are so short that it would take me the better part of the day to go that far. However, if one has a beach to walk on/along, time wouldn't matter so much.

I am getting a bit of a breather at work this morning, after 2 hectic days. I am entering data into the unfriendly state system for our newest case. We are surprised by the number of TB cases we are seeing, but so far have not seen any community spread. My frustration with case management is how fragmented care gets and multiple providers that don't seem to communicate well. And when patients who feel they can't advocate for themselves get sort of lost in the shuffle or marginalized.

I did get a run in after work, which felt good. Dh has room to lose a great deal of weight, however I fear it will come back when he resumes solid food. I bought him some carrot cashew soup which he refused to try, so I had it last night and it was quite good. Our weather is slowly warming up, with 90 degrees predicted for Monday, plus smoke from California is drifting up. I am going to call M-I-L to see if she needs a filter due to her COPD.

Hi Ted, Herring, Dianah, and AmoLucia. Hope everyone has a wonderful day.

I feel fine, but will probably take a nap later. I slept very little last night. I read you all and with you the best possible day.

If you wear trifocals and look through the wrong parts of the lens's at the bottom of the posting box where it says "Drag files here to attach", you MIGHT read it as saying, "Dragon flies here to attack." Hahahahaha! Not to worry about dragonflies, as they only attack musky-toes (mosquitos). There is always SOMETHING weird or odd that easily entertains me each day....tho' I don't always see it/them, I am open to nonsensical bizarrities (a new word!) because they make my life interesting.

Nannie's demeanor is soooo different from the way it was, and she is stronger and less wobbly. She has a walker they gave her at the nsg home and sent home with her. She has one just like it, and a fancy rollator. But she actually uses her walker now! It was olded up and set against the wall last night, and she apparently unfolded it and use it to go to the bathroom, and then out to the den. She can get up from the recliner much more easily than she ever has. She's taking Seroquel 25 mg TID and Trazadone at bedtime. She said she had a hard time faling asleep last night because she was so happy to be here with us, and, of course, she was worried about -- what else? ---her money! She has pretty much what she had before she went into the hospital this past summer. She also said she couldn't believe we had left the house exactly the same. It thrilled her on the ride home yesterday, when we got to the areas she was used to traveling, ie her particular "stomping grounds", she kept saying, "I remember that Cracker Barrel, we used to go there when (her hubby) was alive," and she knew a lot of other places and would point them out and name them and what the business was, etc. That boosted her confidence nicely. Anyway, she is much easier to deal with, thankfully. (long may it be so).

If time comes that something else comes up that would require hospitalization and rehab, she will NOT be going back to the facility she was in this time!

Our hairdresser told us about when her Mom had to go to a rest home, and it turned out to be a really lousy place, she said, "I packed up Momma's things, put her in a wheelchair and took her right out to my car and drove away." The employees kept following her around saying, "You can't do that, you can't;  there has to be orders and discharge papers, gotta do this/that..." she told them she didn't give a flying f-you-know-what they had to do, but if they thought she couldn't take her mother out of there,: "Just WATCH me!" She told them if their idea of good care meant leaving her mother in the bed covered with her own poop, from her knees to between her shoulder-blades, and it had not happened recently as they tried to tell her, "Recent BM's don't get dried around all the edges!" YIKES! Well, nothing that horrible happened with Nannie, but at her facility they weren't as much of a "gold-star" place as they wanted to have folks believe they were.

Welp, the Braves are playing a double-header (Two 7-inning games back to back) and so Nannie is a happy camper...and she really really REALLY is enjoying the big screen HD TV.
