Good morning.

Made some political posts and running behind.  Hope everyone is well.

Was able to add my mom and dad to our Thanksgiving reservation but they are 100% sold out and the manager did us a favor after the initial reservationist said no.  But my niece and her family who couldn't came anyway, can't come if they change their mind.  She's my parents grand daughter and mother of their great grandchildren and have their own plans and we'll get together later.

Working today and off the weekend.

Morning Tweety

Was a pretty good day at work

After work talked to the person who leads the local chapters of thr gay group PFLAG.  His suggestion was to help out with local monthly meetings.  I'll be getting in touch with the closest chapter and see if they need help

Evening was fairly quiet otherwise, the usual exercise and meditation

J and I are trying a new place tonight.  We've been to one of their other locations before, last year I think.  Should be interesting

Quite cold today, will not get over 30

It hasn't started out as a good morning here, as Nannie woke up in a real sundown-state-of-mind. She came up 9, and then 6 stairs, to our rooms, "to see who is here." She was dressed for a summer day, thought she needed to call a cab, and was worried because she didn't want to give her stuff away...but didn't know where it was. Fretting in that little gurgling, inaudible, peeping baby-voice, and unable to comprehend when we tried to help her straighten her thoughts out, which is to be expected, I guess. If you get her to look you in the face, she'll listen, smile, and then change the subject.

Plus she insists she is 190 years old.

The same subjects over and over and over. AUGH! What a way to be woken up! She was in such a tizzy, I didn't even have time to do more than get two sips of my coffee in because I had to -- OMG---immediately!--help her get into some warm clothes, and try to talk her out of putting make-up on her incision and using her hairspray, but it didn't work. I said, okay, I give up, they'll just have to wash it all off at the doctor's office before removing her stitches. "Is that where I have to go? Which doctor? Oh, I dread having the stitches taken out. Can't they just leave them alone?"

I could take the stitches out IF SHE WAS A NORMAL PERSON, and certainly you would think I could at least change the band-aids on her left little and ring fingers...but she jumps and squeals so, you'd think her pain was +100 on the 1-10 scale. GADS!

Okay, obviously I am irritable to the extreme, and since I have to accompany hubby and Nannie to the doc's office, I will get very little time to myself today, which makes me want to chew the walls. I am going to stay off this site for the rest of the day/evening, if I can, unless something MAJOR occurs, because I am tired of b*tch*ng about the MiL, and that is all that seems to be going on in my life this week.(month. year.)

Hi, housecleaning today, I should have done more yesterday, but I fell asleep with a warm pup in my lap, and then jumped up to go to a committee meeting and dinner. I am part of an advisory committee for a nursing program at the community college. We meet 3 times a year and do stuff like help review curriculum, make suggestions about clinical sites, and report on what is going on at our agencies. And then the college hosts a dinner for all the advisory committees every fall. The nursing program's biggest issue seems to be finding and retaining instructors. The state requires instructors to have a masters degree in nursing or a BSN plus a masters in education, but of course, the pay is lower that most other areas. I tried it for 1 1/2 years, but it wasn't a good fit. Anyway, it is partly sunny and mild. I'm gonna fill bird feeders and sweep the deck.

Stars, you really need a respite! Hope it happens soon.

BC, I trust your furnace is working by now.

Workplace drama, we got that too. I try to stay out of it, and am thankful I am only there 2 1/2 days a week. There is a lot of "that's not my job" which just gets so tiresome. We were asked if we could go to the jail to help give Hep A vaccine and you would have thought we asked to amputate a limb.

I've always heard good things about PFLAG. Good for you, Joe.

Hi herring, and Dianah, and Amolucia, and everyone else who comes along, or back. 🙂

I had a Xanax for breakfast and I just took one for supper.

Hubby is going out tomorrow afternoon with the gunsmith and his friends, to go shooting for a couple of hours, "if that's okay with you."

I said sure, but here's the deal: I do not have to see or speak to or listen to Nannie ALL DAY on Sunday, and he can also take care of the dog. If I have to go sit at the Mall all afternoon, I will. It's no fun feeling murderous, besides which, the follow-through is illegal. I'm not ready to go to jail just to get away from her.

I kept my neighbor company while her husband went to his doctor. She has forgotten how to speak English and can't remember that I need her to speak 'largo'. We took a walk around several blocks with her talking too fast for me to understand. I know she was telling me something about hurrying home to be there when he son comes home from school. He lives in her home town in Mexico and is not attending school. I was really glad when her husband came home after only about three hours.
