Morning

Odd day yesterday.  Very productive at work, but for some reason I was tense and irritable the whole day.  Perhaps related to the strange dreams the night before?

I felt better after I got some exericise and had the online meeting with the environmental group.  I also ran to the pet store and got some sticky strips to keep the cat from scratching the loveseat.  Went online and got a new carpeted scratching post to give her an alternative to scratch

Today I meet J at one of our usual places.  Though that may depend upon what happens wih his friend in hospice.  It was thought she might expire during the night, but I know it can be hard to tell what course patients will take

Also have bowling tonight

The rain has stopped and will stay away for a few days.  Also turning warmer as well

Hello all.

Wow. That was quite a shift, Tweety. That is about all I can say.

Working this weekend. My Italian nurse friend will be orienting tonight and Saturday night (not with me).

I bought official Derby Pie to take into work tomorrow night. It is yummy!

It is rainy today. That is okay ad long as it doesn't storm.

Hope everybody has a good day.

Is Ted back from Ireland/Scotland?

Good Morning!

Joe, hope you have a better day today.

NSIME, sorry you're in pain hope things go well.

Was up earlier but took a quick nap.  Got a couple of loads of laundry done.  Heading to the gym and grocery store.  Going to make some black bean soup to serve over quinoa for lunches.

Best friend somehow has a broken heel, but he's settled in and doesn't need anything right now.  His foot is casted for five weeks and non-weightbearing.

Working the weekend.

Morning

Lots to do today. Meeting with sister and step-Moms friend to finish the obit. A few years ago she had a professional photo taken. It shows her at her best with a smile so we will use that.

Nice sunny cool sunny day. I plan to go to the gym and shop for a few things I forgot.

It's afternoon here and the sun has decided to make a brief appearance.  It's 62 degrees, which means I open every window in the house to get some fresh air.  Today is my regular Friday off.  I only worked 2 days this week.  If only I could do that every week!  I slept in a bit and then went to the gym this AM.  DD is stopping by before she goes to work.  I haven't seen her in several weeks.  She's sick again, and I want to get a listen to her lungs.  I will take her grocery shopping, as she missed 2 shifts at work this week.  No work=no pay, so I want to help her out.

Joe-Are the sticky strips working?  I have claw caps on my cats, but they can be a pain to keep up with.  Hope today is less tense for you.

Tweety-How did BF break his heel?  Glad it didn't happen before your trip.  Enjoy your day off.

Herring-I,m sure you wrote a lovely obit for step-mom.  Have a good work out!

NSIME-So sorry to hear the pain is back.  I hope you get some relief soon.

J22-Is today your cardiologist appt?  Keep us posted.

Nel-Can you post any pics of Talli?  Hope your work weekend goes well.

Hi to Steph, Ted, and anyone else who stops by!

Hubby told Nannie he had to rob four gas stations this morning to get enough money to get her checking-account balance up to the amount she likes to see, and said he was mighty glad it only took 4 places to rob instead of 6 or 7, because the ski mask was getting unbearably hot, and he was feeling like he might faint. (It is 87 degrees today)

Nannie has forgotten that she was mad at me last night. But, now she is playing her "I -Hurt-More-Than-You-Do" Game. I have been really ouch-ooching a lot today, and she says "Are you hurting today, honey?" I said I was, and that I wouldn't be walking bent over so much if I didn't need to. "I know just what you mean..." which was the prelude into the "Nobody-knows-what-I-went-through" story, which leads into the surgeries and casts and "being a cripple all her life..".

I do so want to say, You haven't been "a cripple" since your last surgery when you were 18 years old! Nobody could tell, once she was released by the docs, that she'd EVER had any problems with her feet. This woman had two babies, drove everywhere, camped every summer in tents, shopped, played softball, was on a bowling team, and walked a lot for exercise... don't give me that pitiful song with the tiny violin playing in the background! She is consumed by a delusional obsession.

I had to call the doc's office to leave a message to remind them that they said  yesterday they would be faxing in a script for Medrol ...but there was nothing there at the pharmacy. Naturally I did not get a call back until I was back home, and the pharmacy has yet to text me to say it's ready to pick up. It would be nice if I could start it just to see if there's ANY possibility it would help decrease my pain THIS time.

I had to go to several medical supply places to find one that would order me the arm-extension crutches I had a prescription for. Two places just flat out said they didn't carry them and wouldn't special order them! Anyway, where I ended up, they ARE special ordering them and said they would let me know on Tuesday or whenever they arrived. I prolly will only need to use one of them when the pain's bad, but who knows about later in life? Better to have them, instead of wishing I had 'em.

I think I'm going to write a Nannie-Bio, to get her out of my system. I will title it:

"Oh, Honey, Nobody Knows What I Went Through"

Hey,

Yes, cardiology appointment this morning. Need to get an echo and a stress test, then consult with electro-physiologist for probable ablation and possible pacemaker. The cardiologist remembered me from working at the hospital 4 years ago, which was nice. And I need to start an anticoagulant-Eliquis. And he suggested low dose thyroid replacement for my low normal TSH. Ugh, more d*** pills. Most likely won't get ablation done until the end of the month. He said if I started feeling worse, they could try a cardioversion, but I think I can wait.

A broken heel sounds way worse. For non-weighting, I suppose one uses those scooter things?

Joe, I have not heard of using sticky strips for kitties. Dh has been talking about getting a kitten to keep Angus company. It would have to stay inside because we have lost too many on the road.

BC, yes to leaving open windows! I plan to do that when I get home. You are a good mama. I have been helping my dd too, due to work interruptions.

NSIME, I hope you get some relief soon. That seems awfully fast for a cyst to come back. But Round-up out to work...

Herring, preparing an obit can be a comfort, and help move through mourning, as I am sure you probably know.

Ted has posted some wonderful pics on Facebook. I think he said he leaves there on Sunday.

Good day all,

j22

Enjoyed a really good baseball game tonight, but I had to clamp my teeth down on the insides of my cheeks to keep from verbally excoriating Nannie. Man, she is just so prejudiced and intolerant, it is hard to be quiet and let her mean/nasty remarks slide on by....

She always told her children, (so she's told me 6,946 times), to NEVER make fun of or pick on someone just because they were different. Tonight she has cut down, put down, made fun of, and criticized almost everyone on TV.

The LEAST offensive thing she said was that a woman in an ad for a car dealership had legs that looked better when she was pregnant last year, and that they looked terrible now. I said, "Is she standing and walking?" (---'Well, yes.'--- Nannie answered.) I said, "Then she has GREAT legs! Who cares what they LOOK like, if they work?"

I think I told y'all before that she also said that one of the news-reporters was "too fat to be on TV."  And all the hateful racial crap she says  .....  UGH!  She makes me SO mad.

But it isn't polite to vigorously slap one's MiL in the face with a cold, wet, dead squirrel, so I'll have to be satisfied with venting here.

Thanks.
