BC hope the Covid numbers go down there.  It's good that you're volunteering to give shots

NJ22 glad to hear the dentist visit went well. My last one was pretty good

Woke up with a headache yesterday, and the work day started with headaches too, lots of calls to make, some to rather irritable people.  Was pretty exhausted by the end of the day, although it got better by the end of the day

Work day should be easier today, not as many calls scheduled

After work finished the grocery shopping, thankfully the rain held off.  After work had handbell choir practice.  Looks like we'll be ready in time for Easter, though we're considering an impromptu practice after the Maundy Thursday service

Not much planned for today after work except the usual exercise and cross stitch

Might try to get to the arboretum tomorrow, depending upon the weather.

Weather is about the same, about 50, rain should hold off

Yumpin' Yiminy! Another late afternoon post for me and where the heck is everybody else???

H'lo Joe. I feel for you, having to deal with phone calls to/with irritable people, and having a headache besides.

We had a humdinger of a thunderstorm last night, it freaked out Ozzie. Lately when there is thunder and lightning, he BARKS. This is something new, and not a good thing, like especially after your mom went to bed and fell asleep 1/2 hour before the storm started at 2 AM-ish.

I got up and gave him his 'nerve' drops, but it didn't settle him down at all. He paced and barked, and repeated. Then I remembered from last year, how, if I turned on the bedside light and the ceiling light, and turned the fan on HIGH, it kind of muted the effect of the lightning and the thunder. He then went under the bed and stayed there and didn't bark again. I put a small, light-weight pillow on my head to cover my eyes, which worked very well.

But it took me a while to figure all that out because I was so sleepy, and as a result, I think it was 3:45 AM before I got to indulge my sleepiness. It made me sleep late. Waking up to look at the clock and seeing 12:25 PM made me say, "OH CRAP!" I don't think that is an auspicious remark with which to begin the day, but OH WELL!

It is HOT today ...84, count'em, eighty-four degrees!  Hubby and I sat out on the front porch and watched nature's ways .... the hefty  Carpenter Bee we had last year is back to patrolling his territory of the front hedge. Hubby named him "Bungle" because he's not a BUMBLE bee. (I used to call them "Wood-Bees" when I was young.) Anyway, there is a younger Carpenter Bee who keeps invading Bungle's territory, so the chase is on, zipping and zooming, fighting face-to-face, then the both of them would fall to the ground, followed by 'Bungle' racing around making sure the younger, thinner Bee knew he was NOT WANTED in that area.

Also there were a bunch (or the four that we could see, closest to us) of skinks eating any ant with the misfortune to decide to go on the front steps. They were also lurking and leaping through the top branches of the hedge, catching little flying bugs.

Remember I told you that a couple of years ago there was a male deer whose right rack was knocked off his head and his right foot was broken and rotted off, and hubby named him Gimpy? Well, Gimpy is still coming around, always accompanied by two does. He seems to be doing just fine in spite of his missing foot. Hubby has seen him rear up at another male deer to get him away from the corn piles he and his 'ladies' are eating from. I guess hubby puts out around 6 or 7 heaps of deer-corn, so there is plenty for everyone. The most # of deer at one time in the yard he's seen so far this year is 7. Last year we'd get 9 to 11 deer all feeding at once, especially after the acorns started falling later in the year.

Ozzie's just finished eating his early supper. He had a fit because hubby gave Nannie a left-over chicken-livers sandwich, and Ozzie really likes chicken livers. I put down his dogfood and added some cut up livers to the top of it. Guess he'll be going out to potty pretty soon. If he poops on the grass and it happens to be on one of the areas any one of us might walk ... I pick up a bunch of little twigs to place over the poop ...so it looks like a miniature fire site. stacked together at the top like a tepee. It's very creative and it makes one pay attention because who expects to see that kind of configuration made of of fallen twigs? Then when it rains the poop away, or the sun dries it up, there's just some random twigs left. How eco-friendly!!!! And it saves our shoes and keeps us from cussing about 'stepping in it'.

Going back outside now. Hope y'all are having or have had, a GOOOOOD day!

Gosh, Joe, has there been something on the news that I've missed, or what? There's kind of an echo in here!

Hope y'all are doing okay!

Hullo, yes, I'm late to the party. I see Tweety posted on the yellow side by mistake. Sounds like he had a gosh awful shift again. I've been playing domestic goddess today: laundry, bathrooms, floors. I'm not sure if it was my walk/run to the dentist or yard work yesterday, but I'm a little stiff and sore today. And my heart is going flip/flop which makes me a little short of breath when I go up and down the stairs. I had a confusing exchange of phone calls with the GI office today, trying to schedule a routine colonoscopy. After 5 phone calls and speaking to 2 different schedulers, I now have a phone appointment with a nurse, then two days later,  a tele-call with a PA for pre-procedure visit, and then, we can schedule the colonoscopy. I just want to get this done and behind me (pun intended), but it looks like the soonest it can be done is July.

Dh got upgraded to soft food, so we met for lunch and I had a lovely bacon cheese burger and it was delightful.

Deer, bah. They have been munching on tulips and bird seed and pooping everywhere.

Joe, that sounds tough to deal with grumpy people when you aren't feeling great. I was probably a first class b**** today after I got through all the silly phone calls today. In the olden days, you called a number, someone answered, and plugged you into a spot on the schedule. Not anymore.

Gotta go, dh wants me to help move furniture.

Yep, I posted on the yellow side.  Went to work without my wallet and wanted to use a free meal ticket for lunch that was in my wallet.  Then stopped by the drug store on the way home and remembered I didn't have my wallet at the check out.  Then went back and got my stuff and it's the wrong strength of Melatonin that I wanted.

I'm extremely unfocused today for some reason.

Meh.....

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh, FRIDAY!!

Joe, was work better today?  Ppl not quite so grumpy?  And, did you make it to the arboretum? 🙂

No Stars, wow, what a thunderstorm you had!  And then 84 degrees during the day??  Guess it wasn't a cold front!  I enjoy reading about the wildlife you encounter in your back yard. 🙂 Good to hear Gimpy and his harem are back.  And who knew bee species are so very territorial???

nursej22, good you finally got that colonoscopy scheduled!  What a pain in the *** --- and that's just the scheduling part!!  Yay, your dh can eat REAL food!  I'll bet he REALLY enjoyed that first solid meal!

Poor Tweety!  I will go look for his thread and see if I can move his post over here.

Ah!  There you are, Tweety!  So sorry to hear your shift was no better today.  And it is DONE.  Hugs.

I stopped by our FAVORITE Thai food restaurant and ordered dishes we haven't had in months!  And they gifted us with two iced Thai teas!  Dh was THRILLED!!  It was so good to have those familiar flavors!  And good to talk with the owner, we miss going there!

Another quiet weekend planned.  Well, not really planned.  The only "planned" event will be tomorrow's Zoom Sabbath School.  The rest is ---- will be!!  A Surprise!!  (whatever happens, happens)

Have a good evening!

The plan for tomorrow is that I go grocery shopping, and hubby stays home and dusts, sweeps, vacuums, mops and waxes. S'nice to have such a good "wife" 😂  in a husband!

Won't be as hot tomorrow, but prolly will have a few afternoon thunderstorms.

And so ... good night!
